And what will his pension be when retiring at only 53?

My guess is he has some type of job lined up already. He will probably defer his pension until he is 55.

He is still the police chief so I would hope people don't start bashing him on here.

Al is a great guy despite what you think. He has helped the kids and people of Tewksbury throughout his life. Some of the nicest stone walls in town were built by Al Donovan before he was chief. He has worked hard and treated people fairly. He was a very respected winning coach and has left a positive impact on this town and its residents. I wish nothing but the best for him and his family. I wish this town had more people like him.

Big Fella are you one of those cops that doesn't like to toe the line. Are you always butting heads with him for fun. He runs a tight ship, were you one of his spoiled children just there for details?

I stand by my comments 100%. I care about Tewksbury. I dont care about some chick who got felt up. Too bad go on with your life. To answer your question "What do stonewalls have to do with being chief"....Nothing..but they do tell you a little about the person who held the position. And that is what I am talking about People should be judged by everything they have done in life not just the things you dont like. Just like his walls , Al Donovan is a solid guy. He is a hard working person who has given alot back to this town. Its sad to see him go.

As police chief donovan has failed to provide and deliver honorable justice to the community. my cousin is does great masonry work and is a great guy does that make him qualified to be a police chief? Uhhh, No! All you seem to talk about to back up Donovan is about being a coach and putting up some walls, what about his police work. you have nothing to say about his honorable duty as police chief because there is nothing honorable about his service in the department. outside the department he may be a nice guy, but he is lousy police chief
just wondering

Donovan may be a nice guy outside of the force, but he was not an honorable man inside the force. As far as a wall builder he was fine, but as a businessman he was incompetent. Public records can show that. Whatever type of guy he is or is not; He was ill-prepared for the job of running a police department and this town has suffered. To have him invovled in the process of selecting a new chief is absurd. It will be more of the same if either he or Cressman is involved.

If he had a "real" job he would have been fired years ago. You can't be in charge of and survive that type of sexual harrasment in the Private sector.
To all the people who think he is a stand up guy, can I feel up your wife or daughter? It does not seem to be that big a deal to you.

The guy was nothing BUT honorable and honest as a chief. He didn't let the lazy do nothings in the department get away with sleeping on the job or anything they shouldn't be doing and get away with it. He did his job and didn't care what anyone thought or said. He always did the right thing and was the only one who had the balls enough to do it!
