You are the only smart one that has posted. If the case goes to the feds then they can rule that the state gets nothing.
The case already went to the feds, they approved the deal Crist made with the Seminoles. The games are allowed and the state backed out of the deal. The feds are not going to rescind their approval just because the state wants to renegotiate

This state has NO money. You people are idiots!!! Open up gambling and our taxes will decrease and budgets can be met. You talk about crime, we cant have much more than we do now !!!! People who dont wont to gamble dont have to go !!!!!!!!
But wait, let's just spend money on a ballpark downtown!!!! Go figure
Taxes never decrease when new revenue sources open up. The state just increases spending, then looks to raising taxes when these new sources start to dry up.

Lets see:
Bahamas has full gambling:
Boats go offshore with full gambling:
Seminoles are making a killing with Blackjack and Baccarrat and filling all the players lungs with second hand smoke.
Yet Pompano Race Track and Gulfstream starve, payihg the state 5 X what the seminoles do.
Give them the Racinos the whole shebang and let the Indians compete with public companies.
Bye the way did you forget about Cuba opening up soon. Oh well if we dont act now we have only our Legislators to blame.
Give us WPT WSOP events. First class gaming for all those empty buildings in Miami that could be HUGE with Gaming.
Wake up AMERICA we need something to bring tourists back after this crash.
We have the highest unemployment in decades and your worried about the morality of gambling.
Its mans nature to gamble. If not we would have never left the colonies to go west.
Oh I forgot no one bets on football either wink wink or play fantasy football for money.
Actually the Seminoles are cutting deep into the Casino ships and the Bahamas.

I don't care much one way or the other about what the Indians do or don't do on their own land. What concerns me the most is that this opening payment is just a loan; one that needs to be paid back. The state is broke and we are going deeper in debt? Doesn't make any sense at all to me.
Everyone always says these deals are great for the taxpayers but they never seem to work out that way. Every time we hear this our taxes go up, the state stays broke and the services for which the money was raised never get any better. This deal is no different.
That is because the state is looking to make up a $6.1 Billion shortfall instead of making at least $12 Billion in cuts. We need to cap state revenues at $50 Billion

What happen to all the money from lotto that was suppose to go for education?
By now every kid in school should have been picked up by Limo and taken to school with all the money they have made on the Lottery payouts.
the lotto money is chump change, the schools waste serious money.

I dont understand why craps and roulette are creating such an uproar. There has been black jack for awhile now and in some miraculous way, Florida as a state, has survived. You guys act like if we get dice, Tampa will turn into Mad Max and the Thunder Dome. Give me a break. You can't have equal rights to all casinos, because they will over develope and there will be too much competition and the casinos will go under. Just like in Vegas and just like in Conn.
You dont want crime rates to go up, but you will be ok with crime rates rising if they let Donald Trump come in and build a casino with the same rights as the Seminoles???
By allowing the Seminoles to have full blown gambling will create so many jobs, create money for the state and be isolated to current areas, so crime will not spread. Just tourism and succesful casinos will arrive.
Take the billion up front, stop worrying that the indians arent paying 50%, because for some reason you believe the Seminoles owe you money for the business you had absolutely no participation in. And you call the indians greedy???? You people scare me.

This entire state's economy runs on all things illegal and/or immoral. Let the gambling happen everywhere, you might as well legalize prostitution, most of the women down here are **** anyway, and the drugs...bring 'em on. They're not even really drugs, the dealers are so cheap they cut them with household products so who cares...This state is absolutely for sale; it's got nothing of substance to offer otherwise.
You are so right, everything illegal has been going on in florida for years. I have lived here 19 years. We are already gambling in Florida! Gov.Crist, needs to bring in the people from Las Vegas to set up are casino's We are losing money for the state, because the high rollers that have the money to spent leave Florida. Poker has become, the number one card game! It will never go away!

I say that everyone in Orlando and south of it should vote to secede from north Florida and create a new state. Then Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi could reabsorb their rednecks.

We'd still have enough of them down here to wrassle our alligators when they get out of control, and we could vote Democrat in our elections without the results getting messed up.

O.K. Gov. Crist, you and bob-and-weave, attempt dmage control, and hide behind the well crafted "technicalities" that the self-serving politicians have tucked away in the "law" to CYA/CTA but in the final analysis, the citizens of Florida are not fools, and we know right from wrong and when you are selling OUR OFFICE, the peoples' office, for YOUR private benefit or that of your buddies, but no matter how you cut it ov Crist, you have brought disgrace and dishonor to yourself and to OUR GOVERNOR OFFICE. No district attorney or court will put you on trial but as of now even we Republicans must turn away from you as you stand guilty in the ultimate court -- the court of public opinion. If you can now come forward with documentation to support the legitimacy of the other nonaccounted for 80+ freebie trips, then you need to do so right away. Walk the talk or get out of office!
