Lancaster among few cities with lagging income tax collections
LANCASTER -- As Lancaster prepares to lay off city employees and ask voters to approve higher taxes because of dwindling income tax revenue, some similar cities are enjoying booms in income tax collections.

If they catch up and one or more of their tax issues pass it will be a safe bet they will have no problem spending every cent.

They need to raise the property taxes not income tax to get all the retired people that are looking for a free ride and want everyone else to pay for the city services but themselves.

They should raise either. They have yet to cut the dead weight.

All Cities in Ohio and other states will have to raise taxes because the State governments are cutting funding to them.

No they do not have to raise taxes, they should pull the dead beats out of the public money trough, eliminate non essential programs, cut medicaid / welfare programs and if the feds cry about the cuts force the feds to cut too.
