If I find out these guys are illegals and someone or some people ignored them being here they should be sued and prosecuted too.

I agree. Illegals, by virtue of being illegal, are acting illegally...so what is an additional legal infraction to them? It goes without saying that there is a maddening, Kafka-esque spiral going on here. They are illegal, acting illegaly, breaking laws...We need to recognize that two wrongs don't make a right, and just because they are illegal doesn't make robbery somehow legal. TIME CUBE!

Well like I've said on many post here. Other towns have had similar problems with illegals and daylaborers. Many of the townspeople stuck up for the guys crying about them just wanting to work to provide food for their families. The next thing you here is that the jobs dried up causing these same "nice" "Sweet" "innocent" "christians" (I like that one the best)to look for money elsewhere. Many, not all turned to crime. The same thing is slated for Keyport and Matawan. As the economy continues to suffer the jobs slowly stop. These guys are accustomed to coming to these areas for work from other towns. Without the jobs those who aren't so sweet cause problems in those towns. We're just a short time away from becoming a statistic.

I just returned from a trip to South Carolina. There are signs everywhere stating "No Trespassing for Loitering". By order of the police department. I asked some of the residence about illegals and daylaborers. Several different people told me daylaborering is not allowed. You stand around for an unlawful purpose and you're told to move. None of this crap the police around here say. Up here judges over think the issue instead of using common sense. Down there I didn't see one daylaborer. How refreshing!

I see there's an article in the Asbury park Press that the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department is now working with Immigration to help remove illegals. The Sheriff's Department has their officers deputized as acting Immigration agents. Now I know this is for the officers stationed in the jails, but it shows real promise. It also shows that more agencies can sign up this if THEY WANT TO! It would eliminate the "political Correctness" that most departments use during motor vehicle stops and arrests of individuals believed to be illegals. Everyone walks on egg shells as to not "Offend" anyone. Enough already! All agencies should be directed to do this and band together to stop and correct this problem.

I was thinking "Diego"....maybe you are just 1 of these so called illegal day laborers and just want to eliminate the competition....enough already SHUT FCK UP!!!!! |

I agree with concerned... we dont even know if these people who were arrested were are latin americans. Dave once again clearly shows he's a racist...big surprise.

No again you're wrong. The person involved is an illegal. no racism here. And again Maple Place you appear to be one of those idiots who want to do good things so people pat you on the back. Then when one of these guys robs and beats you you'll be the first one on line suing the town for their inaction. I don't make up these statistics and I don't make up the news articles that come up everyday. Basically I see no reason why these issues even go the distance. Illegals have no rights. Only the fake ones liberal agencies pretend they have. If one illegal injures an American it's one too many and should never have happened. If you condone illegals you're a disgrace to this country. Like I said in previous posts. if you like them and trust them so much let them into your home, give them your money and you support them. I don't

Hey Maple Place. Did you notice the beer cans over by billboard where the daylaborers hang out. You fun loving, Christian brothers who do no wrong were caught drinking in public and throwing their cans in Stultz Oils lot. The police actually went there and made them move. Finally. I asked a few people in town who have friends on the department and apparently work was slow that day so they decided to party. Here we go! This is how it starts. Give an inch and they take a foot. The DPW spent the remainder of the day cleaning the area. My tax dollars used to clean up an area that should never have been dirtied by people that should never have been allowed to stay there.

for those that have not heard of the latest atrocity caused by these day laborers. The laborer, a mentally disabled man who has been in the custody of the state mental hospital since the age of 12 for having killed his mother and her lover, killed another man with a blow from a lawnmower blade he'd sharpened for the task earlier that day. He then turned himself in, calling the police and requesting a "hearst" be sent. He then calmly dined on mustard and biscuits while waiting to be returned to the state hospital. Shocking. We need to be aware of these people...

That sounds like Slingblade!?

Dave-Great post. Seriously, this is getting out of control. These people can ask for a work visa, student visa or even citizenship. They choose to come here illegally. This allows them to get short cuts on our tax system. This also allows small business' to hire them and not claim them either. It is a visious cycle. Ultimatly, I am paying higher taxes because someone needed medical attention for hurting themselves on a job they were not suppose to have. Taking food off my table and raising my car insurance because we know the Census is systamically flawed. Blah Blah BLAH. Here is an opine out of left field, lets raise the taxes of all the bleeding heart liberals and small business owner who hire illegals. leave mine where they are. oh wait this will devided an already devided country.
