I commend the Arkansas governor, chiefly because he didn't cave in to the demands of the ANTI-CHOICE movement.

PP enters the fray now to praise the Governor.

Why?

The Governor vetoed legislation to restrict abortion, which is PP's cash cow.

Understandable on PP's part.

Teeth-gnashing time for Planned Parenthood and a legislative slapdown for the governor.

[Feb. 28] "Both houses of the Arkansas legislature have voted to override Governor Michael Beebe's veto of a bill that would prevent unborn children from being aborted if they are capable of feeling pain."

PP never shows their face unless someone hints that they might take their money away by restricting abortions.

If they'd advocate for in-vitro or other things that actually involved "Parenthood" as hard as they lobbied for ways to avoid parenthood in the first place, they wouldn't be such a lightning rod. They don't and they won't, since abortion is the cash cow.

Provision of OBGYN services, I'll assume.

Why do you ask?

Oh I don't know, perhaps it is your assumption that PP is only concerned about abortion restrictions and affecting their income and not related at all to a concern for women, specifically low income women. So I was just interested if you would give the same objective to OBGYN's? NO?

Its my "assumption" since that's the only time you hear from them. Ever.

I've never seen Cecile Richards on TV advocating for anything involving in-vitro, adoption, surrogacy, anything that wasn't concerned with preservation and/or expansion of abortion rights. Sorry.

Where do OBGYN's come into this, Morgana?

You are very selective in what you "choose" to know or hear pertaining to PP.

Not a mention of abortion in this article:

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/planned...

Nor here:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dee-dee-myers/f...

Nor here and a anti choice/anti contraceptive site:

http://www.lifenews.com/2013/02/20/planned-pa...

Or here:

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/obamacare-co...

There is many more, do you want the links in order to educate yourself?

OBYGN's business is pregnancy and birthing right? Imagine how BC and abortion cuts into their cash cow! And here you thought it could only be a cash cow issue for PP. I can only imagine your surprise!

Planned parenthood is an abortion mill, end of story. They lie and cover up their lies. Everyone knows what that place is, whether they admit it or not. Why else would the proaborts here back them up so feverishly?

So let's judge the relative importance of Planned Parenthood's services by the statistics from their own annual report, shall we? What service is booming, and what services are waning? Easy answer: abortion, PP's most heavily promoted product, is always on the upswing; prenatal/adoption services, cancer screenings, and contraceptive services are tanking.

Planned Parenthood’s 2011-2012 Annual Report1

During fiscal year 2011-2012, Planned Parenthood reported receiving a record $542 million in taxpayer funding2 in the form of government grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements. Taxpayer funding consists of 45% 3 of Planned Parenthood’s annual revenue.

In 2011, Planned Parenthood performed a record high 333,964 abortions.4 Over the past three reported years (2009-2011), Planned Parenthood has performed nearly one million abortions (995,687).5

Planned Parenthood reported a total of three million clients in 2011, meaning that

11% of all Planned Parenthood clients received an abortion.6

In 2011, abortions made up 92% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services, while prenatal care and adoption referrals accounted for only 7%(28,674) and 0.6%(2,300), respectively. For every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performed 145 abortions.7

Cancer screening & prevention services and contraceptive services provided by Planned Parenthood continue to drop. Contraceptive services have dropped by 12% since 2009, and cancer screening & prevention services have dropped by 29%.8

Planned Parenthood reported $87.4 million in excess revenue, and more than $1.2 billion in net assets.9

8 According to annual reports, in 2009 Planned Parenthood’s contraceptive services numbered 3,868,901, this decreased to 3,436,813 in 2011. Likewise, in 2009 Planned Parenthood’s cancer screenings & prevention services numbered 1,830,811, this decreased to 1,307,570 in 2011

We know exactly what PP is, it is a womans clinic that provides preventative reproductive health services as Debbies post indicates. Last I heard women go there voluntarily to receive services they determine they need.

Now, share with us the "lies" they tell. Try not to confuse them with the lies you tell.

Now tell me, what are the religious nut cases providing in crisis pregnancy centers in the way of "prevention"? Lets have a look shall we?

Mission Statement
N.E.W. Family Life Services is a non-profit, pro-life, Christian ministry whose mission is to help
those facing difficult pregnancy related issues.
We are committed to demonstrating the love of Christ by offering practical help to those facing
an unexpected pregnancy and to educate men and women on the physical, emotional, and
spiritual dangers of abortion.
We proclaim abstinence from a Biblical perspective, encouraging physical, emotional, and
spiritual health, which will ultimately result in stronger marriages and families.
We comfort those held captive by their abortion experience, bringing healing and restoration
through the Word of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

They offer a pep talk on abstinence as preventative??

"Abstinence from a biblical perspective," gotta love THAT one. Basically, it's saying that women should ONLY have sex when procreation is the intention. Otherwise, women "should" (in their tiny little minds) remain celibate. I guess that would apply even if the women were married.@@

Given the choice between one of those PHONY "crisis pregnancy centers" and Planned Parenthood, I'll take PP any time.

Exactly Ocean! Like anyone wants a brainwashed drone counseling them about anything in the REAL world! A number of articles indicating that the workers at CP are volunteers with no medical background and religion is their counseling, many receive federal funding which needs to stop. This is a breach of separation of church state and MEDICAL!!

http://www.thedailypage.com/daily/article.php...

God's will

According to audio recorded by NARAL volunteers and their post-visit surveys, counselors at the Women's Care Center and Access Women's Center appear to more aggressively deter women from obtaining an abortion than do those at Care Net. They are also more overtly religious in their counseling.

On one visit to Access Women's Center last March, a NARAL volunteer says she asked about abortion as an option but was told, "Your baby should not have to pay for your unwise decisions." The counselor told her that she could bleed out from an abortion and might never be able to have kids again. "We all will be judged by God, so we don't want to have any regrets."

The volunteer says she told the counselor she was Jewish but that she "seemed not to respect my religion." The counselor asked if the volunteer would be willing to become a Christian and if she could pray for her.

On another visit to Access, a NARAL volunteer stated that she had been sexually assaulted a few days earlier and during the visit asked about emergency contraception. The counselor, who identified herself as "Baptist" and "pro-life," said she couldn't tell the volunteer where to get it because it wouldn't be ethical. The counselor said emergency contraception, like abortion, takes a life, and warned the volunteer she would feel guilty if she ever had another child. She also asked her what was worse: rape or what she would be doing to her four-day-old baby.

"She said the rape was not God's will, but if I was pregnant it would be because of God's will," the volunteer wrote.

In your brainwashed mind PP is a mill.

How can they possibly compare providing:

Planned Parenthood health centers around the country offer you the health care you need. Our caring and knowledgeable staff provide a wide range of services. Many health centers provide general health care.

General health care services vary by location. They may include
anemia testing
cholesterol screening
diabetes screening
physical exams, including for employment and sports
flu vaccines
help with quitting smoking
high blood pressure screening
tetanus vaccines
thyroid screening
Planned Parenthood health centers also offer sexual and reproductive health services.

Gee, how can that compare to abstinence lectures and attempts at brainwashing the woman/girl in need into practicing "their" male phallic worshipping woman hating religion?

Lmao! There are many covers for planned abortionhood...all things that people can get at their local free clinic. Their primary purpose for profit is abortion, so get over it. You just won't admit it.
