It should be mandatory that the Dispatch publish a story like this everyday. It really reaffirms your faith in society.

It's sad that this had to be an issue. Does it really matter whether the car is perked on a concrete parking pad or not? It is on private property, after all.

No one deserves this more than Frank Buck. "Buckie" has been an institution on the hilltop for over 50 years. And his father Frank Sr. before him. I can't count the number of people he has helped over the years.
I have literally seen him hand strangers money, cars and food that needed it. Including me back in the 70's when I was raising my kids and struggling working 2 jobs. He is a great guy and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Congrats Buckie |

This was a wonderful thing for so many reasons. The obvious benefit to Mr. Buck is also a benefit to the community. A problem has been solved and ultimately that is -or should be- always the goal.
This project showed our neighbor that PEOPLE are bigger than government and that as long as people are involved, logic and goodwill can prevail. It brought a volunteer group of neighbors together with commercial businesses to get something done with NO PROFIT involved. To that I am so very appreciative to Anderson Concrete and A.S.C. LLC for providing materials and voluteer labor to make this happen. It brought POSITIVE media attention to a community that is far too often reflected as a haven for bad things and bad people and for that I thank The Columbus Dispatch, WCMH TV and 610 WTVN radio. Finally, it showed all who choose to see that despite stories of unemployment, foreclosures, murder and mayhem that are part of our daily lives, something good can happen anywhere at anytime. If we are fortunate, we get the chance to witness those events. If we are truly fortunate, we can be a part of them. I am quite proud of Mr, Hermiller and all of the members of the Greater Hilltop Area Commission for continuing to move forward as friends and neighbors, determined to make our community the best it can be!
