My real estate taxes just went from under $2,900 to over $3,400. That's more than a 17% increase! My mortgage escrow will increase by about $42 a month! I'm approaching retirement and will be living on a fixed income. It's no wonder houses can't sell around here. As the housing prices drop further will they adjust the taxes downward? Not a chance! And are the town services getting any better? I'm sorry to say no. I'm very disappointed with the town council and all the broken promises.
