You should have implied Bantam was being punished by God for their "lifestyles". That would've shown those libs!

That would be you're, not your, as in you're an idiot for not knowing how to use the word "your" .

Your nickname is quite appropriate, however, you really don't get it.

Y'all don't get tornadoes up here. You get those bitty dust devils and microbursts that knock down a few trees.

You haven't seen a 'deadly tornado' until you've watched a pair of F-5s dance through your neighborhood scouring the pavement off the road.

"A 12-year-old Stratford girl was killed on a camping trip when a pine tree crashed onto her tent in Watertown ..."

That girl was Jennifer Bike; her family once lived near mine, and she would always greet our pet spaniel whenever she went by our yard.

Jennifer was a gifted young woman and her loss was a tragedy not only for her family and friends, but for our community as well.

I remember that tornado. i was coming back from seeing the Who in Phili. We were on rte 67 when the storm came through. it was black and green and we pulled over, couldn't see anything and yes Bantam was the hardest hit and it was a Tornado, no dust devil. i am sure the Tornado expert on here wasn't even out of diapers yet!

I was 4 years old when it hit, but I still vividly remember being in the car with my family on 84 going through Waterbury and all you could see was debris flying through the sky.

I spent the next week in Bantam clearing roadways by the lake with a tree company. I remember it taking us days to clear the roads just to survey the damage, so microburst I don't think so. I don't think I have ever seen that many large trees (in excess of 20" diameter) snapped and uprooted in one area.

...and you clearly don't know the proper use of "their" vs. "there" and thus sound like an ignorant idiot.

I remember watching the sky and clouds turning as dark and angry looking as I had ever seen up to that point while standing along an open hillside, not far from Fairfield Hills in Newtown (no, I wasn't a patient :)) with a clear view of the I-84 valley that runs East/Northeast away from Newtown. Tornadoes of course were relatively unheard of in CT at that point in time (I think there had been one near Bradley Airport before then?) so it was pretty amazing to see the sky look so violent.

The crazy part of this whole recollection is that storms now-a-days freqeuntly look just like that one, which had previously been almost unheard of. You can't convince me that our climate/enviroment hasn't undergone a radical change over these past 20 years. Tornadoes in these parts are a much more common occurrence then it was 20 years ago, that is unarguable.

I remember that day. I was working in Danbury and as I left the office, I looked at the sky. It was the scariest thing I ever saw. I turned to my co-worker and said that it looked just like a tornado sky, what with the intense heat of the day and black clouds.
