SCOTUS overrules Sotomayor

The Supreme Court of the United States overruled a decision made by Judge Sonia Sotomayor. The case involved 20, mostly white firefighters, who had their test results thrown out because minorities did not score high enough. Sotomayor ruled against the firefighters, but the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, sided with the firefighters.

1) Scalia, Scalia's Mini Me (aka Clarence Thomas), Roberts & Alito voted against Sotomayor's opinion, joined by Kennedy.

At the very least, 4 votes to overturn were as certain the sun rising in the East. All the more reason her confirmation to the Court will be a Godsend.

2) First Tuesday in October, Sotomoyer's on Supreme Court. This ruling will be insignificant to all but the litigants of the case.

3) Let's hope Obama gets to replace Scalia, Thomas, or Roberts.(Alito is young & healthy, and will likely remain so for 8 years). That would be more change we can believe in!

On this firefighter case Sotomayor upheld precedent on the circuit court - but the five GOP judicial activists overruled precedent (as is their right on the high court).

But nevertheless - Scalia and crowd are judicial activists.

In your haste to get your liberal agenda as the law of the land, you have forgotten than in doing so, you are ripping the constitution to shreds and the American way of life will not longer be viable. I wonder when the government fails to put food on your table, when your utitlites are so sky high you can't stay warm, and your health care leaves you waiting for that treatment you so desperately need. But, as long as you don't have to work for anything, perhaps you will be satisfied. That is, until it all collapses and you will be in deep poo for sure.

The ruling to reverse Sotomayor's racist decision is exactly what the Supreme Court should have done. Exactly. NO ONE should be discriminated against because of their race...and that means NO ONE. I hope and pray that she will not be confirmed, but I believe that she will and that will be a very sad day for justice in general and for the Supreme Court of the United States specifically. There may be a place for a racist activist somewhere, but it is NOT on the Supreme Court. She will (as does Ginsberg) make every effort to legislate from the bench. I hope that is is not appointed, and it has nothing to do with her gender or her ethnicity.
