A woman faces several charges after her car crashed twice Monday night on 29 South. Albemarle Police say 31-year-old Elizabeth Marsh of Faber is charged with DUI and third-offense driving with a suspended license. Officers responded to 29 South about a mile north of the Nelson County line shortly after 9 p.m. Monday ( May 7). A witness reported a southbound car was moving erratically and crashed into the median. Police say the driver regained control and continued heading southward. The car eventually ran off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and overturned. Marsh was extricated from the vehicle and taken to UVA Hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Why was the patient flown to UVa if the injuries were not life-threatening?

to keep the police from getting sued. You wouldnt want a habitual offender to get a booboo and not get free bandaid would you? That would violate her civil rights.

Looking at your posts, I see that you really, really need to get out more. While I'm sure your mother would appreciate all of the time you spend at home talking to her, it would be a good idea to take her body out of the chair in the attic and go ahead and give her a proper burial (it's been ten years now you know). Who knows? Maybe if you try hard enough, one day you could get off of your computer and contribute something useful to society, I hear Walmart is looking for greeters.

I was just going to comment on that. I don't know who makes the decision to use air transport to the hospital, but if you are in an accident and you KNOW you don't need to be flown to the hospital, don't let them do it. I saw this on a news report: helicopters to the hospital cost an average of...get this...$16,000, AND insurance does not cover this. If you don't believe this, call your insurer. YOU are stuck with the bill.

Actually Walmart is no longer hiring greeters. Have you notice they have been transitioned to other jobs lately?

SOME insurers cover most or all of it, but I suspect it would have to be life-threatening. Given that this was apparently NOT -- she'll likely have to foot the entire bill. Time to learn a valuable & expensive lesson (which she obviously has NOT, already!). And, yes, that price tag is about right.

Although I'm sure you are correct about the cost, and that fact that you and I would be expected to pay for the ride, what do you bet they never get a dime from this societal prize. This will be chalked up as another fee that the 53 percent of tax payers cover.

She wasn't flown anywhere. 29 should do a follow up to the story. I'm just sayin'.

Just to clarify--- it says this is her 3rd driving while suspended charge NOT her 3rd DUI. It's an unfortunate situation. Thankfully, she didn't hurt anyone else. But please, before you get too judgmental, have the facts straight

The facts are she is/was still out on our streets driving. Do we have to wait til she kills someone before she is locked up, and stays locked up?
The answer is YES.

The police are incorrect as to being
caught 3 times driving on a suspended license.
Makes for better news ,i suppose and the police look better also, but i really don't see how hard she was to catch.
