Boa constrictor on the loose in Waverly
Animal escaped from Fourth Street home
By Brad Sherman
Published: Wednesday, June 17, 2009 8:02 AM EDT
Local authorities are on the lookout for an escapee. He is considered unarmed (and unlegged too, for that matter) and dangerous.

A six-foot long boa constrictor snake escaped from a home in Waverly earlier this week, and was still on the loose as of press time on Friday afternoon.

4th Street is a long street.
Does anyone have the full story on this?
I refuse to pay for the Watchman, as the prices are crazy for no more news than they publish.
Is there any law enforcement on here to tell us what is going on?

The snake has been located! It was in a womans car and she drove all the way up to Lancaster before she noticed it. Im not sure what the Lancaster PD did to get it out but that is the new update on that.

you know if my dog gets loose I get a ticket for "dog at large" and have to pay a fine.
This snake compared to a dog is like black and white.
If it is true and it has been found, it should be killed and the owner's should face a large fine.
This has caused major panic to the people in Waverly. It is nothing, NOTHING, compared to a dog.
The poor woman that you said it was in her car.
Someone who is as scared as I am of a snake could have had a heart attack and died.
Not to mention if it had gotten hold of a small child in someone's home, if they had left a window open and it got into an infant's bed and killed it.
Waverly passes laws all the time, it is time they passed one that makes it a crime to own a snake in the city limits.

a snake is no more harmful than a dog they bite to and a lot of people helped look for the snake including the womans car it was found in

This snake caused total panic to citizens all over town.
People feared for their animal and children's lives.
This isn't true with a house dog walking down the street.
I hope they killed the damned thing.
I also hope the city passes a law that no one in the city can own and harbor a snake.
Come on Mayor Reed, make it illegal to own such a thing in the city !!!!!!!!

I agree with you tomorrow. I have three small children and I myself am scared to death of snakes. I wonder if the city council knows about this or not, and if not if someone can bring it up at their next meeting...

Let me tell you one thing, if that damned thing had shown up in my yard the cops would have gotten a call of shots fired.
These things are deadly and don't belong in the city.

I really don't give a sh!t what your opinion is.
There can be an ordinance passed by the city counsil that prohibits pet snakes.

I dont know about you but our city council isnt smart enough to pass any kinda ordinance are they???? They only care about the Parks and Recreation Department and spending money on ballfields that cost us taxpayers a ton of money with nothing in return!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Sagittarius

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
