DID ANYONE SEE THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM DISPLAYED BY ONE OF WAVERLY'S COACHES LAST NIGHT AT THE GAME. SCREAMING AT THE CROWD IN THE FOURTH QUARTER. AND IT'S RUMORED THE HE'S UP FOR THE HEAD COACHING POSITION IF COACH WRIGHT WERE TO LEAVE. REALLY DOESN'T LOOK TO ME LIKE HE'S READY FOR ANY COACHING POSITION. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THAT KIND OF PUBLIC DISPLAY. IT WAS REALLY UNCALLED FOR.

It was supposed to be SENIOR NIGHT and the coach wasn't playing the seniors that hadn't seen a whole lot of playing time he kept playing the younger players. It was the fourth quarter and some people from the crowd said We thought this was supposed to be the seniors night why don't you play them this is their last game. Coach Crabtree took off his headset and turned to the crowd and screamed Shut up they are in. But really they weren't in. I walked away so I don't if anything was said but I know he had a lot of angry parents.

You are correct. It's only about winning in Waverly. Even some of the boy's Dad and Mom's force them to play with serious health problems that could kill them. But it doesn't matter, they must play football. One of the kids was ill and said he didn't think he could play one night, and his parents told him if he didn't they were going to throw him out of the house !!! WTF?
They are only trying to live the life they never had through their kids. Wait and see something tragic is going to happen to one of the kids one of these days with such mentality.

I believe coach crabtree is one of the best coaches around here. He cares more than most people about the kids in his program. He is an all around great guy and if your not around the practices and lifting sessions I dont think you have an opinion of what kind of coach he is. One person in particular he was yelling at was the father of a kid who never came to practice. When you play for nothing but the jersey then you dont have a reason to play at all. I back crabtree 100%

I still think what the coach did was very unprofessional. Most other schools wouldn't stand for that kind of conduct out of their coaches.Sure isn't teaching the kids how to conduct themselves.

Not much use going to practice and all the BS that goes with it, if you know you aren't going to be able to play anyway. It's all about the name in Waverly, always has and always will be.

I agree with the fact that if you don't practice you don't play because you have kids that worked hard all summer long and were at every practice. But sometimes even when a kid does work that hard they still aren't concidered one of the top dogs.

No one cares more about these kids than Coach Crabtree. How about parents stop whining and crying in the stands.

Tomorrow if you hate Waverly so much why don't you get the H*ll out. You never have a good thing to say about anyone or anything.

Life is hard, might as well learn it early on.

That is what is wrong with the world we baby everyone from the time they are born until they are adults.

Pathetic.

I don't hate Waverly, but I know how things work here. The truth hurts you so much, doesn't it? I have paid taxes in this town for years,I would venture to say more than you have, so I think maybe that gives me the right to voice my opinion the same as you.

It should be a requirement for the coaches of all sports play EVERY child on the team, not just the top ones he chooses to play with the only goal of winning.

i agree 100% about every player should get to play. its not fair if ur on the team n u just sit the bench cause all the other players r senoirs or what not i feel that if they r at practice n r really trying put them in the game they should all have a chance to play its a team effert n if only a few members get to play thats not fair to the rest of the players

I say fire all the coaches, bring in a new head coach from outside the system and let them give it a shot. We all know the school board will not do this so it doesn't matter.

I did not get much playing time, maybe 18 seconds of the last game on varsity. I wanted the best players on the field and not me. Do not get me wrong, I wanted to play. It is a team sport and you have to be a team player, even if you do not play. In practice football is like hell. Some would get hurt and bleed, but they went back in because they wanted to start. Some have more drive to make sure they start. I had a few more brains in my head and I was not going to be killed in practice just to start. We did have a reserve team and I started and played both sides of the field. Those were my moments. I will never forget getting the ball in the last 18 seconds of a varsity game and seeing nothing but daylight in front of me. I will never forget those last 18 seconds on the Waverly Tiger Football Field. Go Waverly Tigers!!!!!!!!!!

I bet some of you old time players would call off work due to the same injuries you suffered playing football. Football is all important over health issues. Like the kids that are forced to play sick by their parents.
I bet

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Virgo

Home is where your heart is, so stay there today if you can. Surround yourself with your loved ones, even if you're all slumped on the sofa in front of the TV. If you love cooking, you'll get sweet satisfaction from shutting yourself in the kitchen, and either producing a delicious meal or creating some Christmas food that can live in the freezer till you need it.
