I hope the mural is not welcomed in any location in Pasadena ! Our areas will start looking like Rampart,Boyle Heights,El Monte and other miserable places.Since Alderete lives in Pasadena, let him put the mural at a wall at his house !!!!!

Have him put his mural elsewhere. This is Pasadena, not Tijuana.

Mr. Alderete should be reimbursed and given another commission for a mural which depicts Pasadena's contributions to the history of American Sports i.e. Olympic Gold, Silver & Bronze medals, and NBA, NFL, NCAA and MLB Championships, Boxing titles (Canto Robledo), etc....the list goes on and on. Robinson Park seems like a good place....uhm?

Not that monstrosity again somewhere in Pasadena (yuck barf). If the city wants to do a mural, how about something American patriotic.

Waste of taxpayer's money that could be better spent elsewhere. Leave it blank and within a weeks or so they can see paintings that reflect the real Pasadena.

It is great to hear that mural will be repainted, it was a beautiful piece of art and much more of it is needed in NW Pasadena.

The artist made a point to go around the neighborhood, getting kids to paint and input from the people on the street. We saw them working in the hot sun, helping make this community look better. I wish we had more people like them to help fix up this area, it is a shame that others sit ont heir couch complaining about someone helping out a community while they do nothing.

That mural was amazing, and of the caliber of fine gallery work, it made us northwest residents feel like our area was getting the first rate treatment the city gives old town. Those guys were out all day, working with kids, talking to locals, it was such a pleasant situation to be honest with you.

Hope the city comes to its senses and pays them to repaint the mural, as well as many other ones from these 2 talented guys in the area. It would probably save them money too, the mural remained untagged for the 6 months it lasted from when they began painting it, usually that wall got tagged every other week or so (the blank wall when they painted over it has gotten tagged 3 times already, forcing the city to pay some expensive graffiti removal worker to pressure spray it).

More of this public art, good call on the comission to fund repainting it. The cost savings from not needing to remove graffiti on the wall on a weekly basis will pay for the cost in a few months, and it makes the community look prettier!

Finally some investment from the city us northwesterners can be proud of!
These guys deserve to be commended!

Put the mural back up! It was a great work and really made the neighborhood look nicer, much better than tagging!
