the children were victims for a long time if I understand correctly .. a 28 yr old mom with 4 kids, the oldest 10? No father around? If these are the facts, the kids were doomed by those who spawned them. But such is the case so often around here these days.

How could you honestly say that right now? You nor I know this family at all. She chose to keep and raise her children. God be with her right now. As a mom I can't imagine the pain. To you, sir or mam, I suggest a look onto your own heart before you go condemning others.

Any news on how this fire started? Seems kinda fishy

At first it did appear alittle fishy as it was so involved when the fire department got there but now I hear they do not think it was arson- it was very windy- I think they were hoping for more information from the Mom. God Bless Rob Crouch for stepping up for the kids and the funerals- we do need to come together as a community - anybody with a few dollars to spare can contribute to Crouch's, anything left over after the funerals are paid will go to the family. Lots of prayers needed too!

does anyone know the status of Jewel, the children's mother? I haven't heard any more about this story.....I wonder how she is doing. What about Travis - her oldest son? how is he doing?

I used to live in some townhouses in NorthEast a few years ago. Where was this fire at?

The fire was in an apartment complex, not town Houses. The name of course escapes me now. They are right across Rt 40 from Timberbrook. Near the old Poor Jimmys .

Thank you very much. I used to live in Timberbrook. I was never so happy to get out of somewhere in my entire life as I was when I left there. I understand that neighborhood has deteriorated dramatically since I left.

Do you have any idea how you sound. I don't know these people but from what I have read these children were loved by everyone around them. Just because the father isn't around doesn't mean they are doomed, women can do GREAT things WITHOUT MEN. Successful adults are raised by single women every day. 5 people died that night (2 in an auto accident in Perryville). I commend those that have an open heart and mind in Cecil County and are trying to help the victims of tragedy. I abhore people like "PEACE" who sit in judgement with the few "facts" they think they know. when your day comes and you stand in front of God what do you think he will say to you!

Timberbrook has become a bit of a problem. It's a shame because the majority of the people who live there are good folks. You just only hear about the "the problem children". You probably got out at a good time.
