Lawrence County Adds Special Victims Unit To Sheriff's Office -...

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office has added a new unit to its Criminal Investigations Division.

Does Lawrence County have any female officers? Usually Special Victims Units have a female officer due to the fact that "women and children victims" often shy away from males after assualts.

NO THEY DONT, THEY HAVE FEMALE JAILERS......CHRIS WAS ABUSED AS A CHILD AND HE TELLS HIS STORIES IN SCHOOLS AND IN CHURCHES HIM AND A STATE TROOPER MICHEAL. LIKE IT SAYS HE WAS INVOLVED IN THAT OTHER PROGRAM AND GOES AND TALKS TO KIDS IN SCHOOLS HE IS A REAL KIND PERSON. YEA MAYBE THEY SHOULD GET A FEMALE OFFICER AS HELP BUT THIS IS SOMETHING CHRIS CAN HANDLE AND SUCCED AT......I AM SURE!!

Sorry I didn't mean it to sound like they weren't qualified. I just meant I have never heard anyone speak of a female LC officer. All of the victim services I have ever dealt with have a female officer especially regarding situations such as rape where during exams, etc where often a female officer's presence is much more suitable for such situations.

Chris is going to be perfect. Sheriff Mitchell is doing a good job for all of Lawrence County. This is just another example of his leadership. The Sheriff's dept is cleaning up our county. For the first time in years I am proud to say I live in Lawrence County.

The Sherriff Dept is a well oiled machine. i cant say that for the surrounding city PD'S they are a bunch of power abusing low life theifs.
