Talk of the County
I noticed in The News-Sun that there were about 100 units marching in Zion's Labor Day parade.

I have been gone from Zion for 12 years now. I will forever miss the Labor Day Parade. We had our first float, (Friendship CB Club) with Pooh Bear in the 1976 parade. We were in the parade every year for several years, always with at least the big bear in attendance. We stopped about 1987 for health reasons but returned for 3 or 4 years before retiring and moving away in 1999. I miss the excitement and the people. The kids as well as the grown-ups. This has to be the best of the best where labor day parades are concerned. Even the polotions enjoyed the parade. Geo-Karis walked the entire route every year until her health stopped her. I think every candidate for Gov has marched in that parade, (at least during the years we were there. My Daughter just turned 51. From the time she was 3; we always attended even before we were a part of it. Thank you for letting me share some memories of Zion.
