This was NOT accidental! A member of my family was with the victim and his mother all night last night in the hospital. The shooter yelled "Get off my property".

The sheriff said there was two exit wounds. So that means only shot twice. Luckily he is still alive.

The papers and news said the guy stated he thought he was shooting at a deer.

High powered rifle, no obstruction, and using a scope which he would zoom up on the target. A bold action rifle which means after one shot he would have to recock and reload a shell into the chamber to fire again for a second shot.

They said there was no sign of a disturbance or arguement between them.

Here is my guess... The guy was in his deer stand hunting deer. These guys were duck hunting disturbing his deer hunting. They guy was upset because he wasn't going to get a deer because these guys were disturbing his hunt.

Was he hunting on someone elses "posted" property? If so he's paid for, the owner had every right to shoot him.
