<quoted text>That's just what I heard. There is so much going around my school about it and things get mixed up. You shouldn't yell at me just over something I heard, I came on here to give my prayers to her and your yelling at me for it? You should be concerned with other things such as Karyssa, not coming on here to obnoxiously correct peoples mistakes. Maybe a little courtesy next time please? But again my prayers do go out to Karyssa and I hope she recovers. She is such a strong, beautiful, funny, bubbly girl and i don't know what I'd do without her. It's such a shock and it happened so fast. It seems like just 2 weeks ago I was with her at a game and now she is on life support all because some stupid person didn't have her wear a helmet.
Jessica,
I am sure that you were just being defensive here, but the fact is, no one yelled at you. Her uncle just asked that you be sure of your facts before you post them. Someone reading here, may get excited thinking that something has changed for the better, only to be let down learning that it wasn't true. I know that I would have.
I don't think that anyone should be judging the family on how they worry/grieve. Am I saying that they should get a free pass on what they are saying right now? I think that I am. The fact is, if this boy did what the WITNESSES are saying that he did, then he deserves to be slandered for his actions. Cause and consequence! No, I don't wish anything against his survival, however, I have not read a single comment from one of her family members doing anything like that either. When mentioned, each one has prayed for his survival as well.
Any 16 year old, this would have been heartbreaking to hear of.... but for those that know her (even if not that well) it is all the more devastating. Karyssa is a feisty beautiful little girl! She has so much promise for her future... Let's all keep praying for her that she makes it there!!
Momma and Daddy, my heart truly goes out to you, and you family!

If it is at all possible, could we get any updates on how she and the boy are doing? I was there and it really would mean a lot to me to know how they both are(especially the little girl).

They're talking about this story right now on Q92.5 FM. It would be great to hear witnesses call in. www.q92radio.com

I just hope that no one forgets that now because the driver of the motorcycle was uninsured, not only does Karyssa's family have to suffer through this with her but they also have to PAY for it. I can't believe this sickness of it. I hope everyone tries to donate what they can.

the moe show made it sound like the girl didn't even know the guy on the bike... i wish the whole truth of the story would come out. i knew it was hard to believe a 16 year old girl would just get on a bike of a stranger for no reason.

St. Jude, you witnessed the healing power of our Lord Jesus. You saw his compassion for the sick and dying. You yourself touched the sick, shared the sorrows of the mournful, and encouraged the despairing. You received this authority and healing power to work wonders, to cure the incurable, to make people whole. We ask you to intercede with our brother, Jesus, to send his saving grace to heal the sickness and suffering of KARYSSA KESTRANEK, to uplift our despondent spirits, and to instill hope in ours hearts. Amen."

You obviously are a troublemaker, making a classy comment like that yourself. Please if you have nothing nice to say ...then shut-up! Our family wants 1 thing..Karyssa,and a few may still need to vent their anger which is expected as I just did with you...ty
. Yes I actually do! I lost a child to a drunk driver!!!!! And the fact remains, that had I had the chance to concentrate on trying to get him better...I'd of done that LONG before bickering, name calling and finger pointing! I'd have invested my energy in my child!!!!! Not on who did what! Yes, his actions were stupid and a poor child is suffering for those actions! And god bless her, I pray for her every nite. But I also pray for his family as well. I'm sure they are also in pain as well. And although this all could have been avoided...she made certain decisions herself, as did my son to climb into a car with someone who was drinking. And the consequences are very tragic. But I'm reading him take 110% of the blame when that's not the case. I'd think she would be the number one priority, not arguing with strangers. The sheriffs dept will do everything as lawful as possible to handle him and what he did. Put ur positive energy into her, not bickering amonst this website. THAT'S why I said mom was smart...she hit the nail on the head.

Im praying for both kids ( Jeremy Downey and Karyssa Kestranek) & both of there family's. But I do agree with the comment that all the blame shouldnt be on him. For one she's old enough to know that ur suppose to wear a helmet, and why didnt the parents stop her from getting on the bike due to it was according to MO on Q92 it was 7:00 in the am & on the way to the bus stop?? And im sure the parents knew they were dating. Yes he should be accountable for the wreckless & horrible accident but it should be shame on both of them..And before everyone accusses him for being intoxicated people should know the facts before slandering the boy name. And how do they know he was doing 80mph in a 40mph??? Does Mo from Q92 have the police report to be critizing him for all the crap that fat ass Mo was yapping about???? And just like the caller stated if he wasnt friends with the Kestranek family he would be critizing the family for letting her being on the bike & saying crap about where was the family!!!!!
People just need to stop blaming anyone & remember the children & pray for them.....

God bless the young ladys family and the Jackson medics that answered the call. I have needed the Jackson medics before and must that they are truly angels! It is sad for all involved but mostly for the young man who will have to live with this guilt everyday of his life. He wipl have to own up to his carelessness! Too many witnesses report his horrible choices. I get his family defending him. How else could they live with themselves? Forget him! Pray for the sweet girl and her family! All pray.

Umm..Can we not hear or something?? Where did you get the parents let her on the bike??? SHE WAS ON HER WAY TO THE BUS STOP AND HE PICKED HER UP,IF THEY'RE AT HOME HOW R THEY SUPPOSED TO KNOW? Maybe YOU should get YOUR facts straight before you make a comment. And as far as how do they know he was going 80mph polie figure out those kind of things all the time plus the many witnesses who were there so how about you dont talk of anything that you dont know about..thanks

Ummmm??? WHY would they be there to stop her from getting on the bike? Last I checked, 16 year olds don't usually need Mommy to walk them to the bus stop and wait for the bus with them. Just saying...

You know, I have not heard anyone blaming this boy's family... just his actions, and from the sounds of it, deservedly so. I don't understand why someone needs to beat up on the parents of this little girl in ICU fighting for her life. Last I checked, the story never changes... no one has mentioned HER driving the bike erratically...no one has mentioned seeing a helmet on her head, did he have one to offer her? Hmmmm...

I cannot wait to get some good news on Karyssa's condition!!

P.S. what did Mo ever do to you? Why ya gotta bring his size into it?!?!

All I have heard is that the girl was killed instantly and the guy was killed too. The 4 people in the minivan were taken into the hospital in critical care i believe. i have scoured everything too and can not find one thing about this accident. I also have heard there were rumors about alcohol being involved with the guy driving the motorcycle...keep in mind this is everything i have just heard from unprofessional sources. take it as you will and hopefully we can find out the truth soon here
Jeremy Downey and Karyssa Kestranek both are alive but are very serious condition. Karyssa has had many surgerys & Im not sure about Jeremy Downey but I believe he also is in ICU..I wish the families prayers & not to give in to what the dr's say. People have been known to come out of coma's & life supports.
Good Bless & Prayers to both family's

Stop slandering the boy noone knows what happend but the twp of them and they were dating her mother approved of it and let him come over to her house. So mo on Q92 get ur story right everyone who knew the two of them are suffering right now and ur beiing very disrespectful to both familys and both of them. Everyone needs to realize this was an accidnet and both are in icu on life support just not her. He will never walk again or have any function on the right side of his body and he will never mentally be the same this is a tragity and everyone needs to stop with the fighting these two should be everyones only concern!
