Jury duty not a valid excuse for police to skip court, Oregon Court of Appeals says
Jury duty -- generally a rock-solid excuse for getting off of work -- took a hit Wednesday, when the Oregon Court of Appeals ruled that the civil obligation was not a valid excuse for a police officer to miss court.

All this does is remove all Oregon police from serving jury duty as a conflict of interest.
