I was raised in North Baltimore. I know that the road through the Franz Stone quarry has been used as a thoroughfare for at lesdt 50 years. Now, I am told, by our esteemed Mayor, that it is not only NOT A thoroughfare, but it is not a town road either !!! It is a private road, owned by whomever now owns the quarry. He also went on to state that the road (?) should be blocked off.
The town has put a small "No Trespassing " sign on a pole on the property but has not closed the road. The road has several very deep potholes and the quarry is filling with water. My main concern to the mayor and the town is the eventuality of a bad accident or death, due to the potholes.
I believe that the road should either be closed or the potholes filled. I sent an e-mail to Mr. Sponsler some time ago, but nothing has been done.
Will we have to wait until someone is killed to have this fixed????

We put up a fence around the pool. Let it not be said that we do not abserve and practice the law. Hanson Aggregate is in the process of finding out if the road belongs to them or the town. If they own the road, it will be closed to the public. the renters of the quarry offices are cleaning up the area around the quarry. I was told that something will be done about the quarry being fenced in.
