Is the 4500 Chrysler is offering with the 4500 the taxpayer is offering off the new price or the price a few months ago? Remember how low car prices got a few months ago?
Don't be a sucker for a new gimmic. If people start falling for this crap then they will never lower there prices and they'll be back wanting another handout.
They have to cut wages to offer any real deals.

I think the American Auto companies should work a deal with Insurance Companies. Buy American and get a discount on your insurance for the life of your policy. This would create protectionism, would replace the rebates and not involve our Government. This way the money stays in America. I'm sure companies like the one based in Ohio (Progressive Insurance) would jump on it.

Should Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico etc. put money in the pot for cash for clunkers? Why should the USA payout money to help these companys that come from other place's?
