RedLight cameras are on the village agenda for the next meeting on August 13th at 7:30PM.

Westmont should follow Schaumburg's and Bolingbrook's example and give notice to the RedLight firm that they are cancelling the contract once the notice period is reached, which I believe is 4 months.

Other suburbs move forward while Naperville goes back.

What a shame to see my hometown succumb to this scam.

I've actually noticed more and more folks cutting through gas stations, shopping centers and the like to avoid the red light cams. So now we have to deal with these crazy leadfoots facing through parking lots and gas stations in an attempt to avoid the cameras.

The problem isn't the "crazy leadfoots," it's the cameras. Place the blame where it belongs - solely on the city council for approving MORE of these scams when every other town in the area is seeing them for what they are!

I have to partially disagree with you. Yes, the problem IS the crazy leadfoots. When the posted speed limit is 30 MPH, and these racers are doing 50 MPH, then I blame the leadfoot. While the cameras may encourage these scofflaws to cut through other businesses to avoid the redlights, the cameras aren't making these people drive in excess of the posted speed limit. They were doing that long before the cameras went into effect.

Don't even get me started on folks who don't respect the posted 25 MPH limit in most neighborhoods out here. It's a disgrace, particularly when school isn't in session and they know kids are out and about everywhere.

I am glad to see red light cameras going up. there are way to many cars on the road today. I have 2 young preteens who I am thinking about. What I see is idiots out there in a rush and one of these days it may be my child who gets t-boned in a intersection just because someone not paying attention or just don't want to stop for the red light. How many times do you see someone rush through, only to get stopped at the next light. Once you get that heavy fine for being stupid, you might not want to do it again.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
