Owner should make provision that no alcohol gets sold unless it is with a purchase of meat, cheese, or other food product. I am sure he does not want to tunr into a "packie" so it would be agreeable. If the board turns that offer down then something smells about this more then his cheese.
Plus don't sell Bud Lite, you will get rid of most of the riff raff with just that decision alone.

Chelmsford is trying to be a town that attracts new business. Someone needs to tell Dalhberg, Scanlon and Kurland that. I never would have voted for Kurland if I knew he would vote to hamper small business. I will not make that mistake in 3 years. As for Dalhberg running for state senate??? I'd rather have Fargo!!

It's going to be wine and beer? It's not a liquor store then. I have been to that store every week since opening and not that i'm a big wine drinker but it would be nice to have a selection available, one stop shop kind of thing. I'm sure the staff/owner well trained and it's not going toe be like a liquor store where you get kids trying to buy beer. I will make a point to be at that meeting.

This guy wants " a nice, high end business". Guess what people - that means more tax dollars coming in. This is dirty politics , plain and simple. How much will it cost Chelsmford to defend itself , at the ABCC and if it loses and appeals? Those who live there - call your dissenting selectmen and tell them to get off their posteriors and give out the license before they look even more idiotic than they do now.

If your not a Beautiful Person he has no time for you.
He's playing this town big time.
All he really wants is the L. license. Duh!!

Qualification Criteria
This is a unique opportunity for qualified partners to get in on the ground floor of a currently untapped segment of the $70+ billion retail meat market. Individuals or partnerships must meet these criteria to gain consideration for a Meat House franchise:

•Experience as a multi-unit restaurant or franchised brand operator with a minimum 4 unit business
•Recognition as a top restaurant operator or multi-unit franchise developer
•Minimum financial net worth of $1.5 million and liquidity of $500,000
•Infrastructure and resources to handle a typical development agreement commitment of 4-8 units
•Knowledge of real estate and trade areas in development territory
•Operating partner must live in the territory under development
•Ability to obtain a liquor license
•Must have enthusiasm, drive, and passion for the service industry
•Total commitment to developing and protecting The Meat House brand
•Cultural fit and a passion for excellence

so this place built the room to hold the wine and beer before getting the license? no wonder they filed an appeal!

they couldn't have checked on this before building it? what if all 7 licenses had already been given out? or did they know that zero of 7 were issued and assume this was a shoe-in? the tastes a tiny bit like last year's story of the business opening on stedman st...

makes me wonder if i will go back there to shop.

Gee, is it any wonder that this goes on in Chelmsford? Really??? Imagine that, an honest business man tries to improve his business LEGALLY and is stymied by the local BS politicians - who do they think they are? Maybe if this gentleman had "greased" a few palms it might have made a difference in the outcome of the so-called "vote". However, this businessman is doing it the right way - something Chelmsford can't handle. What a bunch of small town bureaucrats!! Glad I left there - after 30 years. Their favoritism and graft was more than I could handle.

Some selectman got it right, thank you. The other selectman are in the tank or don't know that they are blocking the flow of business growth.

This is a respectable shop not a bar room. Something does not smell right. Eric?

Another vote to protect Eric's friends with money. The picture is all too clear now. Close a firehouse but give away a money making town ambulance service = Trinity wins and Chelmsford loses, take the Eliolopulus money = Phil wins and Chelmsford loses, say 'no' to a legitimate business = Harrington wins and Chelmsford loses.

Eric was given money from each business so his friends could get yours. Guy has lived in Chelmsford for 4 years and he has been picking our pockets since. Scram.

Louis has it exactly right - this is a clear example of the Chelmsford "ruling class" taking care of it's own - shame on those who voted in the "Big Three" who opposed the license!
