Most importantly, my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the Prince family. I hope, as impossible as it may seem, that they somehow find peace and know that these 4 pukey little slobs (and all the other accomplices who think they won't be found out) will be brought to justice. It may not be conventional but it will be served.

And these 4 girls, Ashley Longe, Shannon Charon, Flannery Mullins and Kayla Narey...can we get the home addresses of these girls? They need to be made public because I think a lot of people would like to send them some literature. As you would imagine, these cowards have altered all of their Facebook pages so nobody (other than their closest 400+ "friends" -yea, right) can send them a message. No more hiding, gals, it's coming back to you. Get ready.

I find this whole situation disturbing. Although, the circumstances surrounding this case seem familiar...didn't just recently (within the past couple years) a young boy was being bullied and the school officials thought it would be best to force the victim and his bullies to sit together? Talk it out? I'm pretty sure he committed suicide as well. What is wrong with the world...

Mimetic desire and scapegoating form the basis of a theory of violence that was developed by Professor Rene Girard of Stanford.

You can read about him and his theories here:

http://payingattentiontothesky.com/2010/02/04...

And then what is truly a powerful article when read in the light of these events is how he shows the scapegoating violence of the gospels and how it differs from that found in myth. That's here:

http://payingattentiontothesky.com/2010/02/05...

"Only two possible reactions to the mimetic contagion exist, and they make an enormous difference. Either we surrender and join the persecuting crowd, or we resist and stand alone. The first way is the unanimous self- deception we call mythology.

The second way is the road to the truth followed by the Bible.

Instead of blaming victimization on the victims, the Gospels blame it on the victimizers. What the myths systematically hide, the Bible reveals."

So what some are feeding into and continuing here, the mimetic contagion of bullying, is really a failure to understand the gospels and to learn to follow their truths.

Names of the FOUR GIRL BULLIES AT SOUTH HADLEY HIGH are listed in several places. I found them. Don't worry; two of the girls have been suspended from school for a week. That ought to teach em, eh? What a joke.
WRITE THIS DOWN: Zip, virtually nothing will be done about the bullying of Phoebe Prince. NOTHING. Nothing was done despite the fact that almost every living creature in South Hadley knew what was going on and who was involved.
QUESTION: What would you want done if Phoebe Prince were your daughter -- you know, the kid in your life that makes the sun come up in the morning; the sweet little girl who is the spirit of your Christmas, your star on the tree; your Easter Bunny; your baby; your love; your life. What would you want done?
I would've removed her from that school and placed her somewhere else. But first,i would've raised hell with the school for not protecting her.

i honestly think their parents did a horrible job parenting them. their obviously not to involved in their daughters lives. Why wouldn't u be checking your daughters face book or cell phone to see what their up to. also they had to learn how to belittle a person from someone that allowed. i believe they should all be expelled also the laws need to be updated and cyber bullying and bullying that results for the person to commit suicide should be murder. not everyone is strong enough to deal with ridicule. i would be ashamed to be the parents of those so called mean girls because they did a horrible job raising their girls.

I have seen really great parents have really bad kids .I am not saying they were or were not good parents but it does not change the fact that the actions of their children led too the taking of a life. I have said this before but the ability to sue the parents of these "Cool " group of girls
maybe the only real deterent and punishment if Mommy and Daddy have to start paying out big bucks in lawsuits

an interesting release from the school system in South Hadley

http://media.masslive.com/breakingnews/other/...

It is as detailed a report as you are going to get from these guys .Still short on details though .especially not announcing the punishments involved and alao I find it interesting that they mentiom that no bullying will be tolerated against those that break its Anti Bullying laws .
To translate a better job will be done to prtect the girls responsible then what was done to protect Phoebe

What a terrible tragedy this is. I remember after Columbine all schools adopted a "zero tolerance" of bullying. Where did that ever go?

a great question Amy so far as always the school is saying it does not discuss individual students so the real answers when they are asked are never answered properly

Phil this seems to be the normal for these situations. Our schools are totally lacking in their responses to this type of behavior. If their were stricter rules on bullying we would not have to ask why after the tragedies happen.

Bullying crosses to many jurisdictions now to be just the domain of one institution schools have got to start alerting law enforcement when bullying gets brought to their attention ./why is it always the victim of bulllying that has to make all the arragements ,new schools and such .it is time these instituions have systems in place that activly removes bullys from the schools untill proven that no threat remais to the victims .
If they cannot contoll themselves let the bullus parents try and find suitable educational facilities to look after their little darlings

The principal and others from that high school can go to hell! They are afraid of the rich b&tches parents' lawyers, and that's why they won't "man/woman-up", and do what needs to be done here.

Hey "Mr. New Age Principal and Staff"; here's what needs to be done here:

1. Immediate expulsion of all these girls from the district with details on their permanent records as to why.

2. Tried in criminal court on manslaughter/negligent homicide charges.

3. Names put on a "serial bully/incorrigible student registry", like the sex offender registry that is sent to as many colleges and universities as possible.

3. Suspension of all driver's licenses and permits for at least 10 years, based on "imminent danger to others", starting now.

4. Civil suits against the parents.

5. After jail time is served, 10 years probation.

That's how you take care of this.

While I think most of the above ideas are worthwhile goals and suitable punishments most state laws prevent the release of juvinile information to the public .Even those charged cannot be identified but do have their sentences disclosed .i beleive the schools can do the same thing .They should release what punishments have been given for what actions so the public can see what is being done and the youth know what to expect .
As far as what charges should be faced are you sugessting that the principle has the power to envoke legal charges .monitor probation and suspend driving privliges .
The point is schools only have so much leagal clout to enforce punishment to stop bullying .Police and the court systems have to do their part as well .

Hi Phil,
If any of these bullies are 16 or over, which I beleive all or most of them are, and they are going to be treated like adults in the legal system, then their names CAN be relseased...happens in Detroit all the time...
No, of course I am not suggesting the school can do this singlehandedly....However, school officials who really cared would be working wtih police, the court system, the DMV, etc, to do what needs to be done here.
What I am saying is that CLEARLY these people have been either intimidated or bought off, or both...

Each state 's laws are different and it is ussually 18 before names are made public and under 18 it will ussually depend on the crime and if the couts decide to pursue adult charges .I am not disagreeing to the fact that I think they should be charged as severly as the laws will allow as adults so there faces and deeds are known to all ,
I do not think that even in Detroit that schools release the names of its students and what sort of diciplne they give . the couts msybe different . being from Canada its hard for me to understand all the differences with each state . some states it is only after a conviction that a youth charged as an adult can be identified .Again not disagreeeing with allot of your points just do not know what the laws are in the state of Massachusetts

OK, now I've read that the "punishments" for the murdering bitches range from "detention to long-term suspension"..........

WTF??????????Soooo, you torture and directly contribute to the death of a classmate, and you get rewarded with a VACATION..........Then it's back to school as usual...

Wow, just wow...

(This is equivalent to sentencing Charles Manson to 100 hours of community service in a guitar store...the "old people" like me on here will understand what I mean by this...)

OK, Mr. Principal and Minions,....any time you want to come on here and explain yourselves, we're waiting....
