It has come to my attention that the new heating system at the highrise and Spring st. apartments are leaving tenants in the cold. One woman was out in the hall crying because she was so cold and sick. Jennifer Hahn told her to go put a shawl on if your cold. Really, old people are suffering! The Transcript won't look into this either. Why? Why is this still being ignored.

Didn't Hohn just get another $15,000 added to her pay. She could buy shawls for poor elderly cold residents with that kinda money or pay someone else the $15,000 to read the thermometers for her and turn the heat up.

Residents of the high rise want their heat as high as 76 degrees. Ridiculous waste of energy.

Wish I could afford to have my heat on 72. I can't afford that. Why should the tax payers pay for their heat to be so high. If it was 72 outside they would be complaining about their air conditioning not being cool enough.

Look jerkweed--aside from the druggies hiding out there -there are elderly people who are prone to cold and ailments-- you complain about taxes-- well what if they get sick and have to go to the hospital?? you will pay more--TURN THE FREAKIN HEAT UP--just because Breen parades around in the all-together--doesn't mean the folks in the high rise should wear G-strings

chbpod seems to be closed to the facts. i am sure most people in the north east wear a little extra clothing for the simple fact they cant afford to have the heat cranked.

you need to see that the elderly are not the only ones cold. besides, its low housing, they shouldnt be making it a "paradise". if that were the case, who would want to pay for anything less?

i been in the highrise and i see no problem with the heat in there, maybe a tiny bit colder near the botched window-job. but just the same, nearly everyone in the north east wears a little extra in the winter, so why should the elderly be excused?

if my mother was in there, i would tell her the very same "put on a shawl" or something of the sort. there is no crime in trying to keep costs down.

the temperature in there is higher than what i keep mine at and i have no problem. sure elderly get cold easier, mainly because they dont get thier blood moving. get them to do activities that require them to move around a bit and i am sure they will not be chilly. invest money in programs that do such things and not pay out ridiculous ammounts to these OPEC companies charging way more than they have to.

bottom line

its not cold in there, put something warm on like the million in the north east do every year.

eldery do tend to complain but complaining about what everyone else gets, wont get them anywhere.

You must be right commonsense, the elderly residents that are cold must just be delusional. Is it that hard for the people in charge there to comply with the required heat setting range? Why shouldn't the voices of those residents be heard? They aren't important enough? They should be shamed into silence? The local "Newspaper" should have looked into this story and how things are run there. Can't the person in charge at the high rise take responsibility and provide an answer on how this is being addressed and corrected?
