Possibly moving to Madisonville?

I don't know very much about this town but an opportunity has come up that may require me to move there. I have teenagers and would like to get some input from anyone currently residing there. Not to offend anyone, but I was told that certain people "own" this town. Not quite sure what they were implying just curious. Thanks.

I have lived there for a while! and trust me it's ridiculous.
Certain people DO run the town and if you aren't one of them or friends of one of them you're pretty much screwed.
It's a hick town with horrible values.
Thank God i moved out.

YOU ARE RIGHT, I HAVE FAMILY THAT WORKS IN MADISONVILLE. A SELECT FEW RUN THE TOWN AND IF YOU ARE NOT IN THEIR LITTLE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS. YOU DON'T COUNT FOR ANYTHING!!

appreciate the input, fortunately a better offer came along which put me into a whole other region. Did some research and am counting my blessings.

I HAVE LIVED IN MADISONVILLE TX FOR 8 YEARS.I LOVE THIS TOWN AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PEACE AND OPPORTUNITIES HERE.IVE MADE LOTS OF FRIENDS OF ALL NATIONALITIES AND LIVE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD FULL OF KIND AND CARING PEOPLE.IN MY OPINION ITS A RETIREMENT TOWN.WE ARE IN OUR EARLY FORTIES AND VIEW THIS CITY AS A PLACE TO RETIRE.ITS QUIET LOW CRIME PLENTY OF FARMLAND AND PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER AND TO SAY NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT MADISONVILLE IS IGNORANT.

I graduated Highschool there. To be honest its the typical small town there is somebodys and there is nobodys. I was a nobody but I am kinda happy I was because I am not stuck there. Some people Love it and others hate it but I have to admit it wasnt a bad place to grow up at.
