I do not want to double post, but looks like my post to Twinkie is also appropriate for this topic, so I hope the host would allow me to do so.

Twinkie,

I believe there is nothing morally wrong for a 37-year-old virgin female(but Lisa Clark has a son)and a 15-year-old virgin male to have a love relationship and to have a baby.(I also believe there is nothing morally wrong for a 21-year-old male to have a baby with a 15-year-old female as the result of a love relationship).

However, I believe that any couple who have a baby even though they know ahead that they are unable to provide for the baby is guilty of not being responsible parents. Such guilt should not be punishable as a crime but failure to endeavor to provide for the baby should be a crime.

If the couple has the capability to provide for the baby but was forbidden to do so because the 37-year-old female spouse is put in jail for "statutory rape" of the 15-year-old who impregnated her as a result of their love relationship and the 15 year old is locked up under "protective custody" ,I believe the state government is the one to blame for creating the social and financial problems for itself.

Just imagine if the state of Hawaii is going to put retroactively every one above 18 who had sex with a person between 14 and 17 in prison for "statutory rape" and put every one who had sex between 14 and 17 under "protective custody" and put all children born by those couples in state foster care, Hawaii would also face the same if not worse problems that Georgia is facing now.

The legislators of Georgia have to face the fact that the legislators of Hawaii are smarter and more gracious than they are. That's why Georgia is in deep trouble and Hawaii is such a lovely and easy-going state even though Hawaii has a much lower but reasonable age of consent than Georgia.

It is a tragedy that lately a 15-year-old in Georgia has abandoned her new-born baby in the trash.(Don't know yet if the baby died before it was abandoned.)I can assure you that tragedies like this will happen again and again in Georgia as long as the unreasonable laws makes the father a criminal thus rendering him unable to provide for the baby even if he wants to.

Abandoning the spouse and the baby by a spouse of greater means should be a crime. The abandonment of a baby to be left to die is without doubt a crime. When two people of the age of procreation fall in love and have a baby, it should not be made arbitrarily into a crime because of prejudice and political expedience.

I understand that I would put myself in the line of fire for criticizing those unreasonable laws which treat a self-inflicted social problem of the state as a moral problem. But I am not afraid of the ignorant people who attack me because I know what I believe is the truth.

It is a universal truth that murder is a crime. This truth is valid in different states and countries. But when some people make it a moral crime for a 15 year old to have a baby but the same is celebrated in another part of the same country or in another civilized country, it is evident that the arbitrary morality put forward by those legislators is a fake.

I lament for you Georgia. When will you come to your senses that you are wrong and Hawaii is right?

i think that young females these days look for attention in older guys cause they can give them what they want. I also see it as a crime to have a young girl wanting it for an older guy but then wanting him to go to prison for what she wanted i don't think it is right. Tifton Ga needs to crack down on underage sex.
In Tifton Ga are birthing rate is so high its realy unbelieveable.

Why do young females get the blame for older males liking them. Why are people so suck in other peoples buss. The person who wrote that about its the girls that do it.There wrong they have no idea what there talking about. And i really wonder if the person is a male i believe so cause half of males believe they do nothing wrong.I'm not putting everything on males cause yes some is on the females. But people these days need to get the whole story for they write the wrong thing.

alex you should catch up to times bud.....yes most of the time it is the guys doing for searching for younger girls but increasingly the younger girls have been putting themselves out there to be found. i saw this all through when i was in hs and still see it through college and just being out and around. needless to say this type of act will never stop and will more than likely just get worse as times go by.

The male should be punished for his act as well as the female.
The male is older and should have known better.
But there is alot of young females out here that look older than they really are, and will lie about their age, And its the man that goes to jail, I think the female should also be punished (take note, that this does not purtain to childern that are molested, or raped)

And I'm a female not a male!! I believe in equal punishment, no matter age or sex, a law is a law. right is right, wrong is wrong!!

I applaud you for your comments. I wish more people could see that. It's a new age and era and people need to wake up and address the real problem!!! I remember my life back when I was 15 and this is nothing new. Parents and folks in general now a days are so quick to pass the blame. At 15 I knew I could get pregnant if I had sex. So either you didn't do it or you used protection and pray to god it worked. Parents are a childs first teachers. Wake up parents!!! Start raising your kids.

Laws forbidding 21 year olds from having relations with 15 year olds were put in place for a reason, to protect our children's innocence and to protect them from predators. This 21 year old has broken the law and should be punished. He had choices and surely could have found a love interest his own age. We as human beings must use some level of restraint, we have to stop this no hold bars attitude about everything..we simply can't give in to all our wants and desires, regardless of consequences. All is not fair in love, especially when it involves underaged children. No excuse, the law must be upheld!

Ok, the girl is 15 years old, He is 21, that is wrong no matter what, But, Did she tell him NO?
Did she tell him to STOP ? Did she pull off her own clothes? Did she say yes? If they were agreeable on both sides, So be it. It's just like a boy goes home and tells his mom the Teacher had sex with me, Well did he get a hard on? Look people, wake up and smell the coffee! Am I the only man on earth that if I don't want it, It don't get up? PLEASE. If my daughter came home and said the coach had sex with me in the locker room, You must ask questions. Did you tell him to stop? did you undress yourself? This is for guys and girls. If you said no or stop, Now it's time to call the cops, If you undress yourself and laid down well it just happened. The last I knowed the age of consent was 13 in Ga. as long as there is no more than 5 years difference in the age. I could be wrong on this.

yes your wrong the legal age for consent isnt 13.
It was if you were 17, you were considered and adult under the eyes of the law(to consent, to leave home, etc.), but know they have changed that, anybody under 18, is considered a minor, no if, ands, or buts about it.There is still a legal age of consent for minors which is 15, but cannont exceed two years age differnce, and 18, is 18, it doesnt matter if their is consent or not from the minor, 18 is considered an adult and it is againt the law. and adult cannont have any type of sexual behavior (sex, oral, pictures,or talk)w/ anyone under the age of 18.
not even if she is 17 and he is 18.- It does not matter anymore.
So heres to all young men out here, If she cannot enter a bar with u, if she cannot buy her own cigg, keep your buddy in your pants!!! It is not worth it, and if you have too, i.d. her!

yes ga law is very confussing!

Great example with one part of the problem of moral decline and digression of our society. All emotional pleasure, no logical restraint.

So, screw all the other differences between Hawaii and Georgia - culture and history have no bearing. If Georgia would just become as sexually enlightened as Hawaii we, too, can be paradise!

Where are the parents of these underage children? Why is NONE of the blame being placed on them? Why was this monther of the 15 year old NOT aware that she was dating a 21 year old. That is inappropriate. More blame needs to be placed not only on the offenders, but on the parents of these children. Teach our children what is right & wrong and be there to guide them in their decisions up to & past their adolecense. Children are a product of their environment.
