Clear case of animal racism. A dog is only as mean as the owner makes it. Next they will make it illegal for Mexicans or blacks to live 2000 ft. within a daycare. Same thing!

Kevin, get a clue. This is just common sense in action. Have you ever heard of pack mentality? Guess not, so let me explain. One dog might be well behaved but put several dogs, of any breed, together and they get more aggressive and will chase and attack far more easily. Next, add the fact that these dogs are SCIENTIFICALLY proven to show sudden aggression more than most breeds not to mention the jaw strength and never let go mentality of these breeds. Third, let's just say that a gate got left open and these dogs got out. A pack of dogs not used to running free will go a little wild and being this close to small children, it's a disaster waiting to happen. How many children would have to be hurt for you to see this?!? Kids excite dogs due to their erratic movement and yelling. Thank God for this ruling.

Go check out Ceaser Milan's pack woman and you will see it's got several pit bulls with other breeds. The dog he uses the most to rehabilitate is a pit bull named Daddy, gorgeous I might add. Get a clue and stop listening to one sided propaganda! What if a crazed serial killer got out and killed all the kids and the dogs?

Right off of CBS..

Potentially aggressive breeds:

Llasa Apso: can be cranky with kids

Toy poodles: bite out of self defense

Dachsunds: not very patient

Rhodesian Ridgebacks: very dominant breed

Miniature Pinschers: "big dog" mindset in little body

Pekinese: intolerant

Chihuahuas: prefer adults, not tolerant of kids

Chow Chow: one-person dogs, bite without warning

Giant Schnauzers: very dominant breed, will even challenge adults

Old English Sheep Dog: very protective of owner

Cocker Spaniel: very protective of owner

Rottweilers: very protective
Typically gentle breeds that have "bad boy" reputations:

German Shepherd: great with kids

Bulldog: gentle, playful

Rottweilers: can be gentle, affectionate

Great Danes: gentle, affectionate

Boxers: good with kids

Mastiffs-very docile

"Pit bull" is a bit of a misnomer. There really is no such breed. Generally, "pit bulls" are a cross between a "bulldog" breed and a terrier. They are also known as American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Most "pit bulls" are not aggressive by nature. They tend to be gentle, playful and loving. However, there are those that have been bred and trained to be aggressive. Even then, they are more aggressive toward other animals, not people.

My pits and I will say a prayer for you and your narrow minded thoughts!!

Ok here we go again. I am not a fan of this breed, I have seen a pit bull attack a child, my cousin got bite in the face by one only 2 months ago. But that does mean I think that this dog breed should be banned or destroyed or not given a chance by owners who take care of them properly. A dog is a member of most fanilies, and an owner that obeys the laws of the city should be able to have any type of dog they choose. As far as this ruling, I have to agree that the kennel should have to move. Not becuase of the dog and the breed, only because it is a law that the kennel can not be in 2500 ft of a school or daycare. However the judge should have taken into consideration that moving and relocating is hard on anyone and given the owner more time. No one is going to ever win the argument over the breed of this dog, there will always be the lovers of the breed, and the haters of the breed.

How many stories have you ;heard that a lhaso or a chihuahua have killed some body? Its not that they arent aggresive breeds they just dont have the tools to do harm like a pit bull. Look at the history. You here of german shephard once in awhile but rarely. The point is,if you have payed attention, you will have noticed that most of the stories you hear of are about pit bulls. Not that other dogs dont bite. They just dont keep biting until there helpless victim stops wriggling.

Any dog can bite. Its about training. This case is interesting because the guy applied for a license way before the new law and was granted only after the new law went in affect. That seems fishy. I also wonder who was there first. If it was the dogs, then the nuns should move.

E ticket I know of a guy that raised his pits to be caring and loving dogs. These kind dogs tore not one but two different family dogs to literal bits. What if that was his two year old that the pits decided to love?

My grandma and grandpa had a pitbull years ago, got her as a puppy, and babied her until the day she died. The dog was a house dog, and even slept in bed with them. It was their child. It was one of the sweetest and most loving dogs I have ever been around. I still miss her to this day. So I'm sorry, not all pitbulls are mean.

My cousin raises and breeds pitbull they do NOT raise them to fight. They all are angel! Yes i have seen some pit bull mean and attack people it is because some people raise them to be mean. but my cousin, their dogs are very sweet because they raise them very good and they are playful but still have to watch. People needs to quit making them so mean that is why some pitbulls attack people! I dont believe in dogfighting that is sick!

OK you VERY ignorant people. I really wish I could provide the link but it's been a couple of years but I watched a NON biased documentary regarding ALL dog breeds. The tested 100 of each breed to see if there were genetic tendencies and to gauge breed intelligence. And YES, certain breeds ARE more aggressive and the "pit bull" categories did rank as some the most dangerous. BUT this doesn't mean every "pit" will attack. Also, this research did brain scans to show brain activity, ie intelligence and such, and guess what, most in the "pit" breeds showed far less brain activity than almost all the other breeds. This leads to more instictive behavior. This is what leads to attacks when they are started or excited. What part of this do you not understand????? This is scientific. Yeah, I know a couple of Staffordshire terriers that are wonderful dogs. But in a pack situation, any large dog especially with a pit's bite compacity, is a bad deal around children.

Blah blah blah blah BLAH. If their bite is so horrible then how come when it comes to play and my pitties nibble me, I can scream ouch or I can whisper it, either way they start licking me. It's all about training and socialization. And just for the record any person that is trained in dogs will tell you NO BIG DOG should be left alone with small children!

What if a serial killer moved in next door or better yet a phedophile? These particular dogs have given no one a reason to belive they are harmful other than there breed. Freekin idiots. Maybe the nuns need to look up to the sky and see where their faith really lies.
