Maybe KFOR needs to know the real story behind this incident. James Macy was NOT the driver of this accident on July 4th. The real person that was driving that day is willing to take a polygraph test to prove that James Macy was not the driver.
Abby, the victim, knows the real story behind this matter. There are e-mail messages between her and the real driver about this matter.
Since KFOR made James Macy so public, your retraction needs to be as public.

Abby assumed it was James, it was not. He does have a wrap sheet with Cleveland County police, so guess what...he ran(from the passenger side) to avoid being around when Norman PD arrived (which is indeed still not the right thing to do). Abby does know this information, but still believes it was James. His older brother was the driver and because James DID run, the older brother blamed him. James has done alot of bad things, but this one he DID NOT do!! Find the other 2 passengers of James car and they can confirm this to be true. KFOR needs to investigate further, the older brother had confessed and there was a second witness that has confirmed all of this information.

Buy uninsured motorist coverage it is fairly cheap..considering 25% of Oklahoma drivers are uninsured..I dont' understand why anyone would not have it.
This article was about me. At the time my father had been paying for my insurance and I had no idea about uninsured motorist coverage or how any of it worked. Here in Oklahoma UI coverage is outrageously expensive. All car insurance is expensive in OK because of all of the people driving around without it. Most people pay for one month of insurance, get the coverage card and quit paying so if they get pulled over all they have to do is show the police. Oklahoma needs to change their laws regarding this type of situation.

There was not two other passengers in that car. It was the driver and the passenger. Two people! We saw who was driving and who got out of the drivers side door. Abby (ME),the one who was driving and was hurt saw exactly what happened. I was there. I also have a compression fracture in my back because of that accident and had also had a baby less that two weeks before that happened which caused alot of personal female problems. I don't know what is wrong with you people. I did nothing wrong. I was just trying to go pick up my baby from her grandmas. I have never recieved a dime in restitution and am in pain all the time. HE SHOULD HAVE HAD INSURANCE!

I don't know who you are but I DO know the real story. The passenger sent me a couple emails trying to tell me he was the one driving and to take back what I told the police. I'm sure he was just trying to take the blame for his brother since he didn't have such a bad record. Why doesn't the "real driver" go ahead and take a polygraph test. Why did his brother tell the police he wasn't the driver and then turn around and say he was? Either way, this whole situation was ridiculous and should have never happened. My car was totaled, I was hurt and I will never see a dime from them. My life will never be the same from this. It really blows not being able to pick up my daughter and not being able to afford to have my back fixed.

There were not two other passengers. There was someone standing on the curb that looked like he was waiting for them. They were pulling into OU Motel and pretty much the only reason people go there are for drug deals. The police also told my dad and I that they found drugs in their car but for some reason it didn't show up on the police report. That sounds like something Norman police would do.

That's besides the point. This idiot has had numerous DUI's and shouldn't have been out driving in the first place and then without insurance. Being a single mom is hard enough having to take care of the needs of your child. At least she had the deceancy to have libility on her car just in case she was ever at fault, at least her insurance would cover the other driver's car. Maybe she didn't have the money for uninsured insurance. Who's side are you on anyway? The drunk's? That's what's wrong with the justice these days. The victim is usually the one that ends up paying one way or another. I use to be married to a drunk. After 8 DUI's they was going to place him on probation again even after he was on probation still from the last DUI. I fixed that. I testified that he was lying to when he had his last drink, and also that he had stolen my car twice and drove drunk with my 5 year old without my knowledge. That got him 3-5 years. If you choose to be that stupid to drive while your drinking plus have an accident with no insurance. Then you should be put away in prison to get drunks off of the streets for the safety of the other drivers. Do the crime. Do the time!!!!!!
Thank you so much. I don't understand why so many people hast to be so mean about this. Insurance is expensive! I had just had my daughter less that two weeks when this happened. I didn't even know there was a such thing as uninsured motorist plus my dad had been paying my insurance for me at the time because he had me on his coverage. I just wish I could have gotten something out of this. He should have at least gone to jail and off the streets. After this happened, I have seen in the paper that this guy got arrested for robbing a restaurant in Purcell and beat his wife with a pork chop! I'm the one that got hit here and am still hurt 4 years later. I know what happened that day.
