WEll folks what is actually maybe happpening is that the earth has gotten a litle out of its orbit and in that change of orbit has gotten a bit closer to the sun. thus its hotter and dryer. But of copurse there are the big el ninos and the little ninos out in the pacific that also may be cuasing a little heat and dryness. But that heat and being closer to the sun just makes it easier to get a tan. And mabe cause a little sweat if someone moves a little to fast. But the price of corn has set a new record as welll as other crop prices.

Companies will use the drought to raise prices on grain based cereals. Several years ago the was a news documentary on whats in the price of a box of breakfast cereal and the major cost was marketing, advertising ,processing, stairstep distribution, end of year store paybacks, and the final cost of product ingredients per box was $.50 or less. The reporter was trying to get answers why such a markup and got BS and "no comment". It seems that industry is similar to the oil industry.

When you look at the total amount of sunlight hitting the Earth and you compare that with the total IR being radiated back into space, the sunlight is staying relatively steady, while the IR reradiation, is dropping. This trend has been continuing for many years, and it correlates with the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere (CO2 levels have been spiking). There is no question, CO2 increases are caused by people. There is no question that an increase in CO2 would trap IR radiation in the Earth's atmosphere. There is no question that trapping IR would cause global warming.

Queenie, one of the causes of this heat wave is a shift in the orbit, moving the earths orbit closer to the sun. Its been hot down here in TEXAS but even hotter in Oklahoma inplaces beating out a lot of heat records set before this year What is the temperature where you live?

I live in Oklahoma City. Its been over a hundred for the whole week and the past week. Romney says "let them starve, they obviously don't need food if they cannot afford it."

You should note sarcasm on your replies if you don't intend to contribute anything useful to the discussion. I already know you disagree with pappy. I could care less.
Pappy unfortunately no one takes care of our planet. Soon the cost of meat, poultry and dairy products will rise significantly as well as the cost of corn and other grown agricultural food products. I drove through Kansas and Colorado. In Kansas the growth of corn looked horrible compared to that of Colorado. Colorado's corn was much taller and not very famished looking.
When you and dumb pappy start to contribute something useful maybe others will.Maybe you should teach ole pap how to spell and compose a sentence instead of making a big deal out of the myth global warming.By the way you do care less otherwise you would never had to say you could care less, and that's a fact queen wanna be.

Both of these environmental problems do, however, have a common cause—human activities that release gases into and alter the atmosphere. Ozone depletion occurs when chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)—formerly found in aerosol spray cans and refrigerants—are released into the atmosphere. These gases, through several chemical reactions, cause the ozone molecules to break down, reducing ozone's ultraviolet (UV) radiation-absorbing capacity.
Because our atmosphere is one connected system, it is not surprising that ozone depletion and global warming are related in other ways. For example, evidence suggests that climate change may contribute to thinning of the protective ozone layer.

Those non-believers are sure heating the world up fast. Let's not bring up the fact that the U.K. produces WAY more CO2 than the U.S..
I wonder how many people realize where ozone comes from? What makes it to begin with? It comes from lightning, and is constantly being released into the air somewhere on the planet.

Also, I'm a bit slow, so bear with me: Does anyone know how there can be a HOLE in the ozone if it is a gas? Wouldn't it just be thinner in some areas or unevenly spread out? Does a gas unevenly spread out? I know sunlight heats quite evenly, unlike a microwave oven, but what about ozone gas?

Lightning produces ozone, which then rises up to join the rest of the ozone layer. If what you say is true, then that means that due to too many people on the planet, and too many drivers, that the ozone is being depleted faster then it can regenerate. But I don't understand how a gas in a container can be thin in one area and not in another. It's hard to believe that something as miniscule and puny as mankind has become SO powerful.

I think all our problems have one main source, and that being we have far too many people on Earth. If our population came back down to only a billion or two, then all these other issues, every single one, would go away. Even the food problems from the drought would be lessened. Yet, what to do?

Far too many people on Earth? Thats an understatement. It's Chinas and Indias fault for that one. People in those countries love conjugating because of their century's old traditions and the illegal sex trade...Well anyway the main concern really is that nothing much is being done to prevent more damage to the Ozone and the pollution that progresses Global warming as well. But Ozone is so thick think about it this way. Its like the last bit of body wash in a bottle you can stand there holding it upside down waiting for the rest to trickle down.

The ozone is pretty uneven to begin with, but fluid motion explains how ozone "holes" occur, and yes..they're basically super-thin patches of ozone.

Also, reading about ozone from a book is a silly idea. Do some extra research. You'll find that the -60 Celcius and extreme drop in pressure that occur in the middle of a raincloud enable the creation of ozone as well.

It will all come out in the wash, like the flood, men will be marrying and women given in marriage and no one took no note til the flood came and washed them all away,' christ jesus.

god promises to 'put to ruin those ruining the earth', rev 11;18
he also said he would not destroy the whole earth again like he did in the flood,

he made this earth for the ones he loves and he is not going to let anyone change his mind,
he has allowed mankind time to show that they cannot ignore him and yet live..
we have almost destroyed this earth and he has to step in 'or no flesh would be saved'
only those who died a horrible death for Christ's sake are going to heaven to be 'kings and priests with Christ our lord, the rest of the dead will be resurrected to paradise on earth,
' it is written ' all those in the memorial tombs will be resurrected.
we need to work hard and grow our own food using gray-water and stop wasting water for washing the car and watering inedible grass

there is farm land in Africa that lays dormant, and people are everywhere using the baby-making-equipment for one night stands without training and a license.

all the population on the earth today would fit easily in a city the size of Texas,
if you divided up all of the fertile land each man woman and child would have 5 acres of fertile soil.
