2011: The year of taking it to the streets
But after evangelist Harold Camping 's doomsday predictions failed to materialize, all eyes are now on 2012 when, according to an ancient Mayan calendar , we need to again prepare for the end of the world as we know it.

I realize he's a comedian, but Brian Posehn set me straight on this...and his no frills logic should sober you, too. As humans, we read too much into things. Witness this, on Conan:
"Hey, Brian! WHY is the Mayan calendar running out, a truly Nothing event?"
B.P.: "Uh,'cause that's what calendars *do*. They *run out*."
Precisely. Besides, Rod Serling had it at 12/24/11, in The Outer Space Connection (1974), and given that this wisdom predates postmodern, revisionistic crap (pretty much, if the Freedom Train left your town before they altered the spin on something, figure the new twaddle simply ain't so), I'll pretty much side with Serling. Hmm...let's see...are we still all here?...check...any aliens about?...negative...there *was* that new planet "discovered", which would be a lame explanation, but...well, the civilizations Cortez found, were indeed pretty lame!...yeah...it must have been about That, if anything...besides, it's 12/31/11, and We're Still Here, with No encounters of ANY KIND...guess that's it....
So! See ya at work, on Monday (Tuesday, if we work in a bank or deliver mail)!

You can't argue with the Bible, it does predict or prophecy that this world will end.
If you read the signs to know when it will happen, they are all evident and can be seen world wide now. Since 1914, the beginning of the last days with World War 1, the sea of mankind is experiencing all of them now.
(Matthew 24:14). . .And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

saying the world will end in 2012 is superstitious nonesense, but saying that the natives of north and south america, great civilizations such as the inca and aztecs (the maya were gone before cortez set foot), are "lame"

Would you like to finish that thought? Or, are you too "lame" to do so?
Buddyboy, Mao said that all power grows from the barrel of a gun. I think Cortez proved that. If you wanta make the debate instead about White Western European Superiority, we can do that, but that wasn't my thesis. In case you're kneejerking this.
As for the Maya being gone BEFORE Cortez set foot there, well, okay, my bad...but, you're arguing historical reality with the wrong person. I take everything prior to the Daguerreotype, on a kind of faith. All right?
Now. Please don't turn out to be another retired crackpot with time on his hands.
