I wonder why there's no article in the Tribune (or any other major media outlet) regarding the fact that the beloved Toyota is recalling 130,000 Yaris cars due to seat belt malfunctions.

The media perpetuates the false belief that Toyotas are such superior cars, and the people believe it, because the media fails to report any negatives regarding their favorite company. Yet, over the last year, not only have Toyota recalls gone through the roof, but their quality reports are sagging, both initial and long-term, but the mainstream media seems to ignore these facts while reporting even the most negative minutiae about the American auto manufacturers. And it's not just anti-American bias in the mainstream media's automotive reporting, but how much have you read about the far superior Honda Insight compared to the new Prius? Likely, not much, unless you either read trade publications or the USA Today.

The mainstream media seems to have an unhealthy and disingenuous obsession with protecting Toyota's reputation over that of other equal, if not better, companies.

I have two Mitsubishi autos and they are the best autos I have owned in my life. I love these cars and it worries me that they may have to shut down in the United States completely. I don't know what I would drive if that happens because I have had bad luck with Ford, GM and Chrysler products in the past. Of course they may not be around before something happens to Mitsu!

I have it straight from Linda the Luscious that it is true. Not only do the seat belts not work, but thousands are being ejected from cars who would rather be riderless.
