What a complete ripoff!! I thought State Farm was rewarding me for being a long-term and good customer when I was informed that I was eligible for the Premier Service Program for my claim. The bill is at least triple what it should be. The prices State Farm allows their "Premier Providers" to charge are astronomical. I believe I could have had the entire repair done for what I am going to have to pay for my share of depreciation. I have lost all faith in State Farm and have begun shopping for a more reputable company that does not rip off its customers.
If your really think that a company as large as State Farm especially in this economy, is purposely over-paying contractors, you need to take economics. They pay good, not great, not poor money for good contractors. Anyone can get cut rate services and pay cut rate prices. Use your common sense.

First, to the person who told the other consumer to "grow-up." If you don't like reading a person exercising the first amendment I suggest you don't read these posts. Obviously this is a forum for homeowners to VENT frustrations and share experiences. It's nice to know I'm not the only one, but disheartening that a company I've been with since I began driving is so unscrupulous. Having said that, we HAVE switched agents for various reasons we THOUGHT was the agents fault- they can't all be crooked! We had a claim in 2009, and requested Premier Service. Hey, they were right on it- got someone out here to dry our floors, the RIPPED THEM OUT- and that's the LAST we heard. The contractor cancelled without notice, and we are still fighting this. Agent? Cancelled our HO insurance EVEN THOUGH we paid on time all the time. I am thankful that my neighbors are better than my neighbors at State Farm. I'm truly disappointed not only in the lack of service but the lengths some have gone to just to cover up their mistakes. Just admit the mistakes and fix the problem - how hard is that? I'm not sue happy, so I really don't want to get litigious, but Lord, I wish someone would listen. Five years later and my home is STILL in disrepair - I haven't had money to repair the floors they took out as we had JUST put new flooring in that past summer!
