I was moving recently and a friend of mine at dss said not to move in anything owned by space properties. In this trying economy if you are late with your rent they lock you out...

I am currently a tenant at space properties. I have received several notices indicating that my rent had not been paid, when in fact it had. I had to go to office and show them receipts to prove I had no outstanding balance. Also, about 2 months ago my kitchen cabinet fell down, it was only being held together by 2 small screws. This is vey dangerous considering I have a toddler in the unit. There is a significant amount of glass surronding the propety, including the "playground." I can go on and on but I'll stop here.

it's called bait and switch. i worked for them too, so i know how they are. they show an apartment that is real nice with appliances and then when you move in they want you to rent washer/ dryers.i've renovated over a hundred units for them , but i'd never and i mean never rent from them.there are 2 brothers that own the company and i dont trust either. you reap what you sow.

Space Properties is money hungary. They do everything half ass. We moved from one of their properties on the southside over a year ago and although my apartment was as it was promised...the rest of the apartments on both sides of me were completely unfinished and run down and had rats, roaches and anything else you could imagine. All they were concerned about was getting that lump sum to get you in. They charged us 1800.00 just for the deposit and then the first month rent on top of that. Got none of the deposit back when we left. We actually got a bill for more money and nothing was wrong with the apartment. I tell everybody I can about their slimey ways. Sorry to hear that he came all that far to be treated that way.

Genesis Properties isn't much better, Matt. I'd avoid them, as well, if you aren't sticking with Space. Genesis will take you for a wild and expensive ride.

I also had the same issue with spaced properties.I never received the total amount in refund, and they never have answered my phone call or return information to me as to why that transaction took place.

Sorry to hear about your hardship. Being from Syracuse (Camillus) ourselves, it breaks my heart. We've been here 9 years and never looked back. Weather (usually not this horribly hot/humid is awesome), economy much better, schools decent. Just get ready for winter. Whey they even predict snow, CCPS closes schools.(For which I am grateful as a teacher!).

Good luck moving forward.

I think the best apartment I ever lived in was Hunter's Chase in Brandermill. It was very quiet and they were quick with anything that needed to be done.

I'ev heard great things about Hunter's Chase, too. They have pretty inexpensive rent, and you're right there off 288 by Powhite, close to 95 and 64. Good call.

The area is great because it is close to everything. I wouldn't have moved but I needed a little more space. I felt safe there though. And with kids that is important.:-)

i worked for them for quite a while and know first hand about their dealings. while i was there they evicted an elderly gentleman with alzheimers. they had 2 guys with a trailer pack his belongings and put him on the curb. the 2 guys pulled off with his belongings and he was left standing there with just the clothes on his back.that day changed the way i looked them and made me sick that i was involed with them.they were known as west end properties then. i guess the more things change the more they stay the same. shame on them!!!
