To everyone trying to just blame all the violence in the news on skin color, ask yourself some different questions. Why would someone commit the crime? What drove this person to make this choice? Financial reasons? Bad environment? Lack of education? Bad parenting? Physical or mental abuse as a child? These are the bigger problems to address. Criminals are products of their environment, anybody can be turned to do something crazy. Just because somebody is black doesn't mean they will inherently be a gangsta or end up in jail, like most of you like to tell yourself.
Wisen up. You do the community no service by spouting off racist remarks. That only causs more tension between people.
And before anybody twists what I'm saying, I have no sympathy for the idiots that want to be tough with a gun and cause this kind of crap, or the lowlives who spraypaint swastikas in public parks. Trash is trash is trash.
it is what a lot of black violence is about ... nonsense ... attitude and anger ...

Man ... wake up! Look at the highest crime areas in the USA ... they all have the same thing in common ... high african american populations.... and the areas with the lowest crime rates .... areas with the lowest african american populations.

The rarity of white violence allows you to cite specific white guys. LOL ... Not possible when it comes to black violence ... for there are at least one every night of the week in every major city. It is stunning the level of denial you exhibit. Homocide is the leading cause of death among black men 15-25. White on black rape is almost non-existant ... while there are thousands of black on white rape.
Most victims of race crime—about 90 per cent—are white, according to the survey "Highlights from 20 Years of Surveying Crime Victims", published in 1993.
• Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey.
• Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites.

Of course you know all of this ... but stick your head in the ground to avoid the truth.
You know what you can spare me with your biased race war internet propaganda, and I don't have to bury my head in the sand either I can see that people like yourself need to live in a fantasy world because you wouldn't know the truth if it jumped up and bit you in the ass the bottom line is that black and white alike are committing violent crimes and I know this and so do you but you want to make it seem like it is all a black thing so who is burying who's head in the sand and in denial. If you are so intelligent then you would understand that a violent crime is a violent crime and it doesn't matter what color the person that committed it was unless you are suggesting that one race is more important than another

That's not a fair correlation though. There is more going on in those high crime areas than "there are a lot of black people here". 10 times out of 10 these are extremely poor areas where there are not enough resources to better the community. Be it more police enforcement, better schools, better job opportunities, better community services, events, activities, anything to keep people happy. Happy people do not commit crimes. American society and culture also has an immense influence on people's behaviors.

As for this story, I'm not familiar with Lancaster. This might just be a case where the kid wanted to be hard and act like a big man. That happens. Doesn't have anything to do with being black. So stop throwing out these statistics because they don't prove anything. It's like saying most people who commit crimes in Iraq are Muslim.

Maybe we could call up Chris Brown and get him to support his community better (instead of embarrassing it beating women) by building a youth community center. Yeah like Chris Brown would stop beating women to help out young people lol he was just a thought.

Nothing can help that girl now ... but unless blacks start changing their behavior, there are going to be many more boys and girls killed. For them, something can be done; but as you can tell from the attitude ... it won't.

First, deepest condolences to the family of this young woman who died in such a tragic manner.

This issue is not a race issue. It's an upbringing issue. When you have young people (of any ethnic group) who clearly lack regard for human life out carrying weapons, bad things are bound to happen. While it's certain that the host(s) should have exercised better judgment in determining when to end the party (and likely should be prosecuted for contributing to delinquency and possibly other offenses), ultimate responsibility for this young woman's death lies with the shooter(s). I've seen a lot of comments about there being "nowhere to go" etc. However, I grew up in Lancaster and anyone of similar background can attest to the fact that there has always been "nowhere to go" in Lancaster. I can't recall a single incident similar to this one when I was a teen in the area. Hence, I truly believe that the dramatic changes in the outcomes of recreational activities can be sourced to negative changes in the way parents/families are raising their children. These days when I visit the area, I encounter youth (of every race) who look like they have no respect for themselves and behave in ways that demonstrate a total lack of respect for others. Certainly we can't entirely blame parents for everything their adult children do, but they definitely shoulder some level of responsibility for unleashing morally underdeveloped offspring on the world and on the children of others like young Jasmine.

I am very sorry for the family of this young woman and for the law-abiding citizens of Lancaster; and I am disgusted by those of you who can't see beyond ethnic boundaries to actually work on solutions for bettering your own community. Unfortunately, that sad state of affairs is another thing about Lancaster that seems not to have changed since my youth there.

A young girl was shot and killed and instead if coming together we are sitting here and fighting about if she had it coming or not??? Well she didn't and neither does anyone else. It's these petty disagreements that cause hate. And hate causes death and misery and a million other Terrible tragedies. And as far as it being only "blacks" Rich, white people kill each other Hispanics kill each other race has nothing to do with someones state of mind or being. Point is hate is hate. The one thing that should be coming out of a tradgedy like this is LOVE! so I pray for the soul of this young girl and for her family and that she may find peace.

I cant believe some people were so awful to say such horrible things. I graduated with Jasmine in 2009 from Rappahannock and she was by far the sweetest person I have ever met. She never was loud and obnoxious. I pray her family finds peace, and this case be solved.

Oh boo-wooo cry me a river. I live in the area and I'm sick of these parties putting a strain on the sheriff's, police, fire and ems departments. Anytime these groups of blacks get together, there's nothing but problems. Why can't they act civilized in public and learn to drink and have a good time. As usual some coward little puke has to play bad boy. Bottom line is If you go to a gang banger party YOU MAY GET SHOT, STABBED OR ARRESTED OR ALL THREE. I tired of hearing all this crap about what a great kid he/she was and how they didn't deserve to die like this. My advise to the police is stay out of the area and let these fools shoot it out. All year there have been shootings from these parties in Richmond, Essex, Tappahannock, Lancaster and Westmoreland Counties. Enough is enough!!!
Omg,,are you kidding me..someone put this on a comment. I hope you are you family memeber never have this happen to you, at a party or not..I will pray for you because it people just like you that has mess up this country and you would love to make it seem like it is us..Raves have just as many shooting as any other black party ..You are such a freaking AMERICAN!!!! NOT!!! to say something as stupid as boo woo..cry a river over a young ladys death..YOU NEED HELP!!

where did you get you infomation from? There are just as many crimes in the White area as in Blacks and done by whites, we just dont hear about those because its always a "good" reason for whites to act this way..One is no better then the other..AMERICA would just like for you to think like it is. God made us to were we all bleed the color red,so no one color is better then the other. Wonder how this would have been if everyone was see through, no color at all. then how would you you think then.
Please Grow up..this is not the time to be comment about the color of someone skin when there was a teen killed. What ever color they were..PrAying for people with your thoughts. Have mercy on you.
