I would love to see a Casino in Salisbury, Ma. right on the ocean front. It would certainly dress up that area, and attract more business for the locals. The best part would be that I wouldn't have to drive 2 hours to get to Foxwoods/Mohegan, when I can just drive down the road 5 minutes, and be there!!!

Of course there should be a casino in MA. The arguments are ridiculous. The "criminal element" is here already. People are going to other states to spent their money or they're on-line sending money to other countries so they can gamble. Keeping casinos out of MA isn't going to stop a gambler from gambling. WAKE UP, PEOPLE. Some people spend a fortune on scratch tickets!!! Time to get your heads out of the sand, politicians. Gambling's alive and well here. The money's just not going to the state!!!

I may not approve of gambling, particularly slots, but why continue to send a billion dollars to Conn and RI? Then higher crime argument doesn't fly.

Yes I think Massachusetts should have Casino's & not just add slots to horse and dog tracks because that will not creat many extra jobs, We need Full resort Casino's in order to creat thousands of new jobs & I feal that they should be built close to all our bordering states so as people from those states will cross over and Spend,Spend,Spend.

Don't forget NY. Saratoga is open for six weeks and in Berkshire County if yew can't make it two da twack yew can go over da border too Hillsdale or New Webenon OTB. Most uv da people dat go two New Webenon OTB are fwum Pittsfield. Da pwace is witterally packed year round. Gee, why not open an OTB in Pittsfield, DUHHHHHHHH!

They should allow the building of casinos. AND putting money into Suffolk Downs right now would be the smartest thing for the state and city of Boston.
There are rumors(strong and based on fact) that the two tracks that host the second and third races of the American Triple Crown will be closing due to the under funding of gambling in those states(Maryland and NY)
Putting money into SD would increase the chances of OUR race track picking up one of the races. Sure the name of the race would need to be changed as it would no longer be held at it's original track(Preakness or Belmont) But true horse racing fans travel. and the owners of these horses have MONEY. As do the trainers of these classic distance racers. Then there are the sports channels, the celebs etc etc etc
There's the money! And if Mass isnt careful we are not only going to loose the MassCap and the people that smaller race brings. But also an opportunity to host a leg of the TC.
