I would not recommend for fear aggressive cat owners or cats that are not socialized. They have a few office cats running loose in the clinic as well as several cages with kittens located behind the reception desk and in hallways leading to patient rooms. A cat came out our patient room as we were walking in with my crated cat.[This set my cat off immediately!] The staff is inexperienced when it comes to fearful cats and the staff actually added more stress to my pet than needed. Most cat owners would have been appalled at their staff's approach to my cat situation. While they were cheaper it was not worth what my cat went through that day.

It is always a great idea to go into a Vet's office and "scope" the scene before bringing your pet in. Researching on the internet is simply not enough

I LOVE the folks at Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital as well as the groomers who work out of there. We have had many vets through the years and find everyone there to be capable and caring. They have gone above and beyond for us in all ways.
Long Waits

The major problem I have with them is the wait. I have waited entirely too long as I see vets and techs walking around doing what certainly seems like nothing. Waiting an hour for a ten minute appointment is too long. I would rather make an appointment time then wait. Other than that the staff seems knowledgeable and caring. They are one of the few vets that treat rats. My daughter loves to visit the kittens and we enjoy the cats roaming around.

For a couple good places that deal with fearful cats try Wellness Human in Chamblee, Lavista AC. Both deal with my former feral cats.

Not everyone is good with fear cats, it's good to ask about their work with ferals to get any kind of idea if they will be tolerable.

My dogs have had THE BEST care EVER at Dr. Colson's. Just this past weekend she went above and beyond the "call of duty". My dog had been throwing up and we had already made plans to be out of town. Poodles do not like to be crated - on Saturday when my dog was feeling better, and not throwing up, Dr. Colson called me herself and said she felt someone could come pick her up. She thought my dog would be happier in a home than at the boarding place. She cared MORE for my pet than "making a buck" on the boarding feels. I love the fact that the cat are roaming around - it feels like home. I also love the fact that she will take them in rather than putting them down! Goodness - I am so grateful for Dr. Colson and her staff. My thanks to MBAH!!

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE THIS HOSPITAL. I have never met more caring, compationate people for animals. Dr. Colson and her assitant Natalie saved my cats life.

I showed up, standing in the lobby in tears when they were about to close and they took my kitty in and did whatever it took to save my kitty (named Boss) that night. Boss' chest was soaked from his own saliva, wasn't eating or drinking, body temperature was extremely low and he could not even walk because he was so sick. Not only did they treat my kitty but gave me very thorough instructions on how to care for him at home.

My kitty woke up the next day purring for the first time in a long time and his coat was soft and healty again; no more saliva and body temp rised dramatically. The care and concern that Dr. Colson and Natalie showed my kitty is an example of what Veterniarian Medicine stands for.

To many Vet's are in it for the money, but Dr. Colson and Natalie made me believe that there truly are good people out there who help for the right reasons. They brought back a belief that there are still good people in this world who do good thinks.

Thank you Dr. Colson and Natalie...you truly are wonderful and are an example to be followed!

P.S., I think the kitties roaming the office are great and makes the office warm, freindly and personalized rather than the cold environment you feel in other offices. That makes me trust you that much more. You have convinced me that you believe in what you do!!!

This vet is terrible. On one occasion Dr. Colson over medicated my dog and I had to take her to the emergency room. Why I went back I don't know. She completely missed a tumor in my dog- on 3 separate visits, and by the time I took my dog to another vet, it was too late and she died. the new vet said that the tumor should have easily been picked up by a decent vet months ago.I would steer everyone away from here. Nice person, but incompetant.

Gosh, I keep seeing the same tumor lady on every single review website... Sure, vets can make a mistake, but when something terrible happens to your pet, though it might bring temporary relief to blame someone, it's not always the best thing to do. As for me, my experience has been completely different. I have had two pugs and they are high maintenance as some of you pug owners may know. I've tried many vets but Dr. Colson is the best; she never diagnoses incorrectly or charges unnecessarily. I have tried several other vets. I talk to people in the waiting area (pug and boston terrier owners especially) who love her. Yes, teh wait can be long, but that's true anywhere in my experience. Her staff is also loving and so attentive and affectionate with my pug! Pug and other dog lovers, look no further!

It's Wellpet Humane in Chamblee, GA, not "Wellness Human."

Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital in Norcross Georgia, Is NOT a place to leave a pet unattended. They just recently decided to MURDER a dog owned and boarded there by The Park Pet Haven Rescue. Someone @the vet's foolishly allowed the dog in the same space w/a cat, even thought they KNEW she was cat aggressive, and when the dog attacked the cat they euthanized the dog on the spot. NO call to the owners, no separation into another area, no sedate. Just outright MURDER caused bt their OWN NEGLIGENCE. Don't trust them to "care" for your pet!!!

Don't believe for a second they murdered an animal. This story seems way too far fetched!! Dr. Colson in fact saved my chihuahua's life literally, after a freak accident, that should have killed her for sure! Dr. Colson ran and grabbed my chihuahua from me when I ran in the door sobbing, unable to even speak. She immediately started an I.V. and all necessary protocols to insure my tiny baby would have the best chance at surviving, which she did, and is still thriving, 10 years later, all because of Dr. Colson and her wonderful staff! Also, had a scare with my pug a few years ago. Dr. Colson didn't miss a beat! She treated my baby as if she were her own. I love her and continue to see her for my many pet needs and always will! Anyone who read the comment about the pet "murder" I beg you to consider this a harsh un-truth about a great vet hospital. Again, Dr. Colson is fabulous and deserves much credit for her years of devotion, love, care, concern and empathy for my family of pets, and many other families pets she's cared for over the years!
