It is spreading down the hills near fourth street in Norco and it is potentially dangerous to mckinley street residents.

Gosh,Alex, is the fire east of 15? The winds and the smell of smoke felt just right next door, I am at 65th.

I live on Norco Hills, the fire is extremely close to me... but looks like it has calmed down at the moment.
Very scary, we are all packed up and ready to evacuate if we need to.
Fire / police say they will let us know as soon as they feel the need.
Babies asleep now... fingers crossed this ends soon.

the wind has calmed down and so has the fire... hopefully it doesnt spread to where any houses are.

It burned up the hill behind my home about 2 hours ago. I was in a panic trying to get the animals out, but the wind shifted and sent it east. Last I heard, it was near the golf course and Norco Hills Drive. Can't find anything on the news, Very frustrating.

Does anyone know where to get the latest information, I am down wind of the fires but can't smell any smoke so it seems that for now we are safe.

I looked all over internet and news channel on TV, this site is the only place with the latest news from local residents!!

DMP, hope you are okay. If you have a horse, I was going to offer to put it at my place if you need to. Nothing left to burn on this side of the hill.

Thank you very much Audrey... But we dont have any horses... 2 dogs and 2 cats... all ready to go, but things look a lot calmer now.

The fire virtually out on my side of the hill now.. but who knows??

I think we panicked so much because it seemed like it was only about 2 football fields away from us originally... but you can also amply these thinsg in your own head i am sure.

We moved here from the UK a year ago, and have never even really seen a fire, not even on the news before... so we went all out with getting prepared for evacuation.

There is still 5 suitcases near my font door... i did just order a pizza though... so i am sure that is a good sign (as far as traffic is travelling on Norco Hills Road is concerned).

By the way, for anybody who is interested... i have started a new magazine called GoMyLocal... you may all possibly get one around Thursday next week (if your address was on my list)... i am also starting a website in January www.gomylocal.com - where i will have a chat forum, if anyone is interested in beinga part of it.

Dylan, you did right to get ready to evacuate. I was driving east on the 91 headed home from OC when I saw the hill on fire from far away. Had no idea it was the hill behind my house (one block away) until I got onto the 15. When I got off at 2nd St and saw the whole thing ablaze, I went into a complete panic. The fire ended up burning to the backyards of the neighbors behind me. Very very close. If I had jumped onto the houses, I don't know if I would have time to get all the animals out (1 horse, 4 cats, a dog and 2 rabbits).

I don't know where the fire is now because it's impossible to get any news, but it sure scared the hell out of me.

Wow... I didn’t realize you were so close yourself… I hope everything is ok for you… if things take a turn and you need any help, let me know… I check my emails all the time.

I did see the news @ 10 channel 5 (KTLA) and channel 11 (whichever that one is)… looks like the fire crew are very confident they will have it out in around an hour.
