It should still be called a Christmas Tree in my opinion. The political correctness in this country is getting to be so ridiculous, especially around Christmastime i noticed. His birth is not a holiday, but a celebration.Boo hoo somebody said Christmas, not season's greetings or happy holidays.

Well it's also the Pagan Day of Sun Rebirth, which is where Christianity stole it from in the first place. Jesus was born in the spring supposedly, they simply said it was Dec. 25 to gain converts. Happy Holidays is the most accurate thing to say given how many people are celebrating this time of year.

There are more people who celebrate the birth of Christ then all other religions combined. If you want to say happy holidays that's fine it's a free country. But don't tell me I have to say happy holidays and not Merry Christmas. If you don't like it don't reply when some one says Merry Christmas.

And yes it is a Christmas Tree, or you can simply call it an evergreen, but it has never been refered to as a happy holiday tree.

Thus why is she so upset he said happy holidays?
He wants everyones vote, not just hers.

Eh, I've heard Holiday tree.
I typically associate the evergreen with Christmas though you're right.
Don't really know why he seems to be bending to my wants. I'm an atheist but I still love Xmas lol. Never really took offense to "Merry Christmas" or any other holiday. It's a time of good will for all.
Wonder what his motivation is...hmmm

I think he just keeps getting dumber and dumber. I cant believe Beshear is even running in 2011. Who would be dumb enough to vote for him? It will always be Merry Christmas to me and I dont care who I make mad.

Once again, why are basing his entire political career on whether or not he says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"?
That's just silly...

We aren't telling you what to say. We are telling businesses and governments what to say because they deal with the public and not everyone is christian. Would you like to be told "Happy Ramadan" wherever you go just because muslims run the stores? Probably not. You would feel out of place. You wouldn't feel like you were home.
Fact is, neither trees nor Dec 25th have anything to do with the birth of christ. It has more to do with the winter solstice than anything. If you want to be christian, remove all the symbolism and teach your children what it is about. Instead of a tree, have a nativity scene/shrine. Ask any child under 10 what christmas is about and they will just say 'presents'. Since when is greed not a sin? Same with easter. The symbol shouldn't be some colored eggs and a dumb bunny. It should be a cross and a ghost.

To where the movies? Dancing? Out to dinner maybe? Vacation? Don’t tell me to take something and not tell me where to take them. Damn I hate when people are so vague. If you have something to say to me say it. If you don’t have the balls for me then just chill.

It is not your wants that are the problem. It is the politically movement inthis country, that dictates u must be careful of what u say and in the tone in which u say it and in the manner that u say or do it. I assume that most individuals are like u and dont care but it is a vocal minority that raise hell and bitch and moan because they were somehow offended. U sound very open minded and that is a breath of fresh air and i wish u a Merry Christmas and Happy New year my friend.
As for the other person that spoke of Happy Ramadan. If i was in a predominately Islamic country and someone said that to me i would accept it and go on about my Daily life. It is only the intolerant fools out there that whine and cry when any little word or gesture is made that they take offense. I say if u dont like how a Christian nation celebrates, its life, and culture then u have 2 choices. Accept it or leave. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you also
