The face of the old dead dying legalistic Pharisaical coc is led by the christian courier. The same system that claims they have no creeds.

Nova have you ever won a new convert?

Matt 23:15
A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you go about land and sea to get one disciple and, having him, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments...(1John 5:3)

Looks like God wants us to be legal. You call it legalism our Lord calls it LOVE.

It is one thing to keep his commandments but quite another to create new ones from the silence of scripture and then bind them to others as one of God's commands. That is legalism. Your understanding then becomes my obligation.

7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?(Acts 4:7)

Even those who opposed the Gospel of Christ new we must have authority for all we do concerning spiritual matters.

You cannot have authority from the silence of scripture. There is no authority in the bible saying instruments in worship is a sin.

When you guys ever get to the place where you can give your man-made authority up and embrace the cross of Jesus, then you will be saved, not before.

You say -"You cannot have authority from the silence of scripture."

The word of God says - Going beyond what the scriptures say is sin.(1John 3:4)(1Peter 4:11)(1Cor.1:10)(Phil.3:16-19) (Rom.16:17-19)(Rom.14:23)(Gen. 4:5-7)(Heb.11:4)(1John 3:12)(2Thess.3:6,14,15)(Deut.4 :2)(1Cor.4:6).

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.(1John 3:4)

...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.(Rom. 14:23)

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.(Rom.10:17)

In the New Testament the Lord said to "SING". That excludes anything else.

Noah was told to use "gopher wood" to build the ark (Gen.6:14). That excluded all other kinds of wood. The Lord does not need to tell his servant what NOT TO USE. The Master just commands what He wants to be used. The servant with a good and honest heart will obey the word of the master ALONE (1John 5:3).

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:

Then you claim I am not saved.YET you teach one is saved by grace alone through faith alone. WELL I am a believer, so according to your doctrine I am saved.

See how inconsistent up your doctrine has become. Your hatred for the church of Christ has blinded you to the ways of the Lord (2Cor.4:4).

The person who teaches and follows truth will be consistent (John 17:17,20,21)(1Cor.1:10). Your doctrine is anything but consistent.

Bobby, would it be ok to add a Banana Split to the Lord's Supper each Sunday?

(1Cor.11:23-28)

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed TOOK BREAD:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

The Lord gave a specific example during a meal and said "THIS DO". He was referring to the bread and the contents of the cup (grape juice).

The Lord said or referred to the bread at least seven times in a few verses.

The Lord said of referred to the contents of the cup (grape juice) at least eight times in a few verses. He done this for emphasis.

He said "THIS DO". That excludes everything else. Going beyond what was commanded is sin (1John 3:4)(Gen.4:7)(1John 3:12)(Phil.3:16-19)(1Thess.4:1 ,2)(Heb.12:28).

...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.(Rom.14:23)

Faith is getting our instructions from the word of God (Rom.10:17).

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Baloney, There is no authority for you to worship in a church building, sit in pews or even have a sign on the door saying Church of Christ, etc-etc.

You are blowing smoke about this authority thing because many times you have no authority for the the practices you use.

You are trying to bind things to other believers that God did not bind.

What you are saying is that your understanding is my obligation. You are nuts.

I have heard this foolish analogy so many times.

Nova, would it be ok to add works to the plan of salvation as being necessary? It must be you do it every day and boast about it.

Eph 2:8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

I am amazed you never seem to post vs 10 along with (Eph.2:8). I wonder why? Maybe cause it says -

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

If you will notice in (vs 8) we can find grace and faith. As we read on we find works and walking in them in (vs 9,10). That is what you will find in every conversion in the book of Acts.

In Acts 2:38 they were told to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins...

In Acts 8 we will find -

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

To preach Jesus one must preach water baptism. That is one of the many lessons we learn from Acts 8.

Notice the rejoicing came after being baptized in water and not before. If we understand and obey truth we are happy (John 17:17).

The believer is not free from sin until they obey that form of doctrine (Rom.6:16-18).

18 "Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. " (Rom.6:16-18).

One can neither be freed from sin or be a servant of righteousness until they obey that form of doctrine taught in (Rom.6:3-6)(Acts 8:38,39)(Acts 2:38 .

The word of God opposes what you are teaching BOB. You need to come back to Christ. Cause the word of God says a person must be obedient to the word of God before you can be a child of God.(Rom.6:16-18)(John 6:29)(Acts 10:34,35).

It is not hard to understand the following -

Believe + Baptized = Be Saved (Mark 16:16)

or

(Acts 22:16)

1. Arise

2. Be Baptized (in water)

3. Wash Away Your Sins

Nova says in defense of his works for salvation theory:

Notice verse 10.. We are created (in) Christ Jesus. This is referring to already saved Christians. We have been re-generated to good works after we are saved by grace thru faith... Got it?

Let us look at what the bible says about how the Ephesians became Christians. Then let each of us compare what we teach to the word of God and see if we are teaching truth or error.(1John 4:1-6).

Truth sanctifies and cleanses (John 15:3 ; 17:17).

Error cannot save anyone (Gal.1:6-9).

The Ephesians heard and believed truth (Eph.1:13).

The Ephesians confessed Christ as the Saviour in (Acts 19:17,18).

The Ephesians were taught truth about repentance and faith (Acts 20:20,21).

The Ephesians believed and was baptized (Acts 19:1-5).

The Ephesians heard truth, believed that truth, confessed Christ as the Saviour, repented of their sins and was baptized into Christ. according to the verses above.

That is how we get to (Eph.2:8-10).

Let us do as the Ephesians and teach that very same truth to others so they can obey that form of doctrine, be freed from sins and become servants of righteousness (Rom.6:16-18).

vs 16. Decide who to serve

vs 17. Obey that form of doctrine

vs 18. Being THEN FREED FROM SIN and BECAME THE SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

(Rom.6:16-18).

It is easy to see that Nova is missing the easy stuff because of blind denominational loyalties.

Don't you mean that faith in Christ should lead to obedience?

Yes, everything he says apply to Christians, not unbelievers, they are things created for Christians to do. This is not requirements to become a christian.

Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak. 2 Corinthians 4: 13

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11: 6(NKJV)

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
Romans 3: 28(NK

So Jesus said to them,“Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17: 20(NKJV)

Jesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well. And at once the woman was restored to health. Matthew 9: 22

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2: 17(NKJV)

But to one who, not working [by the Law], trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God). Romans 4: 5

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Galatians 2: 16(NKJV)
