Topix Lawsuit!!!!

people in this county get away with going to someones house stabbing them multiple times and leaving them for dead but yet you are asking if they will arrest someone for saying something on topix that is not true?

I just asked a question. I am not a lawyer. Concerning accusation that are not true or that can't be sustained. Can the accused sue and get the IP address of the person making the accusation and sue for damages. I read the topix law suit article and those folks were awarded damages. Please point me in the right direction if you have info on this type of law suit.

Legal answer is No!!!!! There is so much confusion on here about lawsuits measure of something someone said. Here say is here say. That's life! Topix, work, church, store, games, parks, people would love to shut other people up by saying LAWSUIT! There isn't anything illegal about it. But they can hire a lawyer about it and they'll find out ip addresses and civilly sue them. Of course all the deadbeats that post on here aren't worth much. What little money they make goes to their husband's meth addiction

There are no lawyers around here that will take on the case period.. My in law is a very good lawyer in the area, they have had many calls about topix and lawsuits, they do not have grounds all because of name calling, then not to mention, it will back fire on them. They have to have absolute proof, exact time, exact day, prove who was home to access, especially if there is more than one person that lives there, then consider anyone that had access to the home with a key, then there is the someone broke in while I was gone... That's why it won't happen. Then when they can't prove it, the ones trying to sue will be gone after. Its not worth time and money. Its all about proof, with out that, no lawyer will do, because of the circumstances. Since topix, he has been contacted by at least 150 people wanting to sue, but he knows its a loss, and tells then no. If I'm at wal mart, and I tell the cashier that Jane Dow behind me is a slut, that has herpes, then when she gets up there to check out and the cashier tells her what I said, there is nothing she can do. She can't sue me for that. If that was the case, all the parents could sue other parents because they think there child is being bullied in school. It can never make a case.its called life, and a cruel world. Thanks to technology anything goes. Topix is like the enquirer magazine, its all bull

A very wealthy family in Bay county tried to hire a successful lawyer on a similar situation. Its not about money, its about the circumstances.
