mr. trammell is a good man. he always help the people of nixon. when the bank wont give you a loan, you can go to auvye. if you didnt have a down payment for a car or truck, you can go to auvye, NEW roof, Auvye, bail out of jail, Auvye, help with rent or other bills, Auvey, keep your kids in college, Auvye, anything you need, ASK Auvye. he has help more people in nixon than any 20 people combined! i have nothing bad to say about him. he has not hired me to do his carpentry, electric, plumbing, roofing or any other trade, BUT, he never gave me a reason to think or believe that he would not if he did not have other professionals working for him. that aside, he is the most counted on, and trusted in nixon texas, and is the most respected without being a cop, mayor, city council, on the school board, of any other person in this town. THE END. I am ADAHM DeMohld... and I approved this message.

Just because he does all these things for everyone does not make him above the law !! Maybe it was to keep everyone quiet, if I am good enough to you !!
What happen to being a law abiding citizen !! This town has always thought it was above the law. Remember the kid that was killed by a golf club....no one turned anyone in for that. What about the drug houses around town....no one raids the3m and stops it. What about the large group of kids that go around breaking into homes and stealing...all they so is apologize and all is ok!!
What about the kid that raped a yound girl in the school here in Nixon and people that ought he should be able to caome back because he did no wrong!!
Does anyone see something wrong with all this...if not where is the moral values !!!!

hes a pervert, who takes advantage of ppl. hes crooked and the ones that speak well against him, are the ones he has in his pocket. Trust me this man throws money at the right ppl to keep his ass where hes at, aint it weird that our police cheif is a guy that auvye put through police acadamy!? Everyone in this town is to scared to speak up because of the consequinces of what this man is capable of. he has a handful of the right ppl in his pocket, he'll probably get away with the crime hes involved in, but i hope justice is served to a man who rightly thinks hes above the law. this has been a long time coming, but i hate this man. he disgusts me right down to the core.

He helps those people that benefit him. He's the unofficial mayor, city manager, sheriff, judge, and jury of Nixon. Nothing happens in this town without his say so. Whether it be what street gets paved or who should be arrested. he's helped many ppl but only if he had something to gain. Yeah he will bail you out of jail but then again he probably had a hand in you getting arrested. I have known him for a while and I have seen him do many wrong things but I never saw him have anything to do with drugs. He always new who was selling drugs though. I guess he was supplying them. Lol. If he's truly guilty then maybe justice will be served. Nah he will probably con his way out of this situation like the times before. For all of the ppl who support him, well just goes to prove that you are in his pocket as well. He probably has something on you or you owe him for something. AUVYE IS A DANGER TO OUR SOCIETY! If you have money and want to get away with your criminal ways, may I suggest moving to Nixon and befriending auvye ray trammell. He knows the law very well and can show you Damn near every loop hole.

Are you serious people??? Why don't you let someone named uuuhmmm (FINCH) babysit your kids too. Someone said he was shot today but I have a feeling that is a fantasy!!! I am ashamed to say that a young kid that I once knew from Nixon was involved in drugs and yes he did know and sometimes was supplied drugs by this SOB. This young life is now snuffed out and it is just short of murder. Everyone makes their own choices but he takes advantage of kids that are down on their luck, scared or whatever their problem is. Let's put him under the jail!!!

He pled guilty late last year to at least one of the counts for which he was indicted. Sentencing has been postponed twice, but the federal docket in San Antonio still has him down for sentencing on April 29. As far as I know, he still has the indictment in Gonzales County for possession of stolen firearms to answer.

In any case, he will be a convicted felon. That means no more city council, no more possessing any kind of firearm, no more state licenses for most professions requiring them, no more voting, no serving on juries, etc.

Hmm postponed AGAIN.....imagine that.

A lot of stuff goes on in Nixon that is questionable. Hit and runs, murders etc, not a peep from the local papers. I think they are either scared silent , the coverups are really good or both. Something is REALLY wrong in Nixon.

According to the Gonzales Cannon grand jury report for June 8, Auvye was indicted on 3 counts of theft of firearms. This may or may not be related to the previous indictment concerning firearms.

I noticed that a Randy Davila of Nixon was also indicted by the same grand jury panel for 3 counts of theft of firearms. Does anyone know if that case is related to Auvye's case?

He was sentenced today to 18 months in federal prison and 5 years supervised release on the conspiracy count. The intent to distribute count was dropped. He was also ordered to pay the income taxes he'd somehow forgotten about for the last 4 years.

There's a pretty good write-up in the Gonzales Cannon. It's worth reading -- especially the part where he never took any money and was only trying to help out a fellow with a repossessed car.

I don't know how this will affect prosecution on the gun theft indictments.

I can clearly understand some of the comments in reference to Auvye. Everyone is entitled to their opinion good or bad. As for me this is just another day in the life of the news. People... stuff like this happens everyday in towns all around the world. This does not title Nixon as a corrupt town. It just fresh small town news. Growing up in Nixon I had no issues with the town or the people in it. I often visit and trust me I'm sure drugs fly past the one stop light everyday. This is not an issue that has just arrived. As for Auvye, he will have to live the rest of his life looking over his shoulder Only getting 18 months in federal prison... trust me he squealed on suppliers above him and we all know what happens to those that squeal. I am not saying he was right in anything he did, but there will be a higher judge ( god) someday that he will have to face. Let just pray that by that time he has found his peace with god and changed his ways. As for the rest of us, we all have skeletons in our closet. Most seem to forget that !!!

Yes, most of us do have skeletons in our closets. There are things most of us have been a part of that were accidental or just plain stupid. Most of us truly believe that they were wrong, regret every one of them, and we wish we could take them back. I'm sure that almost all the good folks of Nixon fall in that category. On the other hand, some people regret getting caught, not the act itself. I don't believe I or the majority of Nixonites should be part of any excuse for Auvye's activities.

A quote attributed to Edmund Burke is "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Auvye's brushes with the law have been common knowledge around Nixon and Gonzales county for years, yet he was elected and re-elected to the city council. He garnered enough power to cause an old and dear friend to admit that he couldn't speak out against Auvye because Auvye could keep him from working. He accepted large amounts of money after befriending the elderly. He has been indicted twice for theft of firearms. The list goes on.

The only thing I hold against Nixon is that they chose to turn a blind eye and tolerated his criminality.

I work for the Cannon and I can tell you that we are definitely interested in accurately covering what goes on in Nixon and the rest of our area. The problem is we don't necessarily have "ears" in every community we cover so if you hear something, let us know and we'll check it out.
