Well, unless "God" gets angry and floods the planet, or destroys your city, or brings down multiple plauges on your country, so yea.... free will..... no dictator. Sounds to me God is a terrorist "do what you want but if it's not according to my rules then smiting and divine wrath for you" yea.... free will....
What it sounds to me like you are saying here is that how can you have free will if God is using fear and coersion to bend you to His will. Thus you would be without a real free choice in the matter. The Bible is pretty clear on some of the destruction God has handed out in order to enforce His will.

Am I correct in my interpretation of your post? I ask because there seems to be some confusion about what your post means and some less sharp thinkers have found things there that are not there.

The wisest man is the man that knows there is always something to learn, while the dumbest man is the man who thinks he knows everything.Ē
Then you came on and ridiculed me with this little post of yours, "Don't be so hard on yourself. You probably have a good idea once a decade or so."
Your simpleton brain sees anything intelligent as a threat so then you have to ridicule the poster of that post. So point blank if you donít like the smell of shyt, donít stir shyt and you fella stir more shyt in this room than anyone here. Even if someone says something nice you have a smart@ss comment you reply back with and I am guessing because your life sucks so bad this thread is your outlet to try to feel superior in a world that in reality you are inferior. Good luck with that and your fake names for it will get you nowhere but where you are and at the end of the day you are still the same little pathetic loser posting here hoping to look smart and knowledgeable. And that is your reality everyday like it or not. LMFAO
Ah, so you got your feelings hurt because someone you have a history of attacking made an off color remark. Then you spent the rest of the evening creating a huge charade and throwing a tantrum to get over on me. Well done. I know you think it was worth the effort.

You are either a young punk or an old punk but either way you are a punk idiot. I played you like a fiddle and even got you to answer many post by different names separately while they all said in the first sentence "what I said". Even the poster "Guestzero" caught on and had to tell you what was going on. You are a joke and that just burns your @ss and you can't believe you got caught up in a game that you play and got beat and proved a fool. Pay attention and take notes for it won't be the last time it happens to you for it is so easy to do. LMFAO.

Very well put... I was just hoping that YDD would give me his answer so I knew where he stood on the subject.
Some attribute the ability to sin as a mistake by God on his part and claim God fallible. That is not the case at all. In order to know if one is truly loved, one must fulfill the truest definition of love. Love is not just a feeling that one can ascribe to but it is in fact an action. An action of sacrificing something of value for the good of another person. The only thing that God gave to us when he created us that was our very own is our free will. It is the this very thing that God requires of us to relinquish in order to judge our true commitment to him. Unfortunately, this also carries with it the capacity to not submit our free will to God and do as we please. When that happens, it is sin. In essence, true love and sin are related as states of the heart go, one just as opposite the other, but yet still separated by our choice in daily decisions.
I have already answered. Your thoughts are beautifully idealistic and wonderful. Unfortunately, they are not correct.

So you are saying that God gave us "free will" so that we can relinquish it?

Balderdash. What nonsense. Try again.

Thank you for clearing this all up for me. I hope it doesn't bother you that I feel in fine spirits and will likely sleep well tonight not even thinking once about this whole episode. Now, I know you are going to want to express how you believe that is not true and completely the opposite of reality and I want that for you believe me. So please do by all means. If there is anything I can add that will further your thinking along these lines, feel free to let me know. It has been great getting OWNED by you and I am sure that by now you have tired of the process so I will let you get on your way. I know you must have many more important things to do than waste time on some elaborate game to get over on an anonymous poster on an internet forum. Have a wonderful evening.

And that is your opinion Dawg allowed by free will. I see it more of live right and be rewarded or live wrong and be punished. Not much different than the laws we live by daily. Murder, steal, ect and be punished. Many people follow the laws of God and the laws of man from knowing the difference of right and wrong, some the fear of being punished, some just don't have believe in anything and think they are invincible. Dawg why do you follow any laws? More out of fear of the punishment or more out of knowing right from wrong or do you think you are invincible?
It is my opinion that humanity, over the ages, has developed an innnate sense of "right and wrong" which works to help the continuation of the species.

I have noticed that conservatives, in particular, believe in punishment to assure that humans follow the "code of conduct." As a generality, you agree wholeheartedly in stoning, beheading, imprisonment, and physical punishment. Why? I suppose because you have your beliefs of "right and wrong," and are willing to go to great extremes to make sure that everyone follows your beliefs.

Liberals believe more in behavior modification. There are some things which I believe are simply "right to do" and others which are "wrong to do." If you are a heathen, you probably NEED punishment to follow the right path. If you are a thinking person, no such strictures are needed.

Yes of course I didn't. Of course you did. We can all see that. I must be trying to save face from the very scathing OWNING of me that you have given me. You have played me like a fiddle. I must confess, I do feel like my bow has been pulled on rather strenuously. You are right. Guestzero did catch on and he did mention to me after I mentioned it in a previuos post. No, I can't believe I got gaught by someone that has gone to the effort to register multiple different names, followed me to obscure out of state forums to ridicule me and then made post after post to reassure himself that he has beaten me. You have gotten me for sure. No, I am certain, that it won't be the last time you do this. Again, don't let me keep you from the much more important activities of your life. I am sure that you must have emergency surgery to perform or witnessing for the Lord to do. Just leave me here knowing that you have impacted my life so much that I may never be the same again.

It is said that God created Adam after himself . He gave Adam a mind capable of reasoning, thinking, and even creating, although his intellectual powers, in comparison, are limited. So by that I would think God has free will and chose to pass it on to us. Thus he did not want to control(dictate)us but yet make lets us make our own choices but never saying there would not be punishment for breaking his laws "IF" we chose to break them. That is where choice comes in and where we choose right or wrong. Same as daily laws we live by.
Without free will no one would be telling us what to do. We would be like a robotic world society where everyone is the same and does the same as the others do instead of doing what we choose.
So what would be wrong about a robotic world society? Certainly your "god" had that as an option.

I am amused that you tell us precisely what your "god" had in mind when he (presumably) gave us "free will." You are like "Norton." You presume to cloak yourself with the mantle of your "god," and tell us what "he" had in mind.

It is truly wonderful that you have the ability to peer into your "god"'s mind and tell us poor heathens why he presumably "did" what he presumably "did."

Your "god" has thousands of laws. As some silly examples: not eating pork, circumcision. if you do not follow those laws, you are in deep doo-doo from the "God of the Old Testament."

(And I do not want to hear anything about "grace," either.)

One school of thought among anthropologists is that we developed morals, altruism and other behaviors as part of our social structure resulting from the cooperation required for survival. The Bible is not the first set of rules developed to govern human behavior though you would think it was based on the belief of strict interpreter.

Dawg as the first few word in that statement said "it is said that God" did those things. It is what I have been taught as I grew up. But back again to my post about believing, we can only believe what we think is right for none of us really know what is right and what to believe. It is a choice we make. For if we in reality if someone does not see it or hear it their self where in fact is the proof that it is true. It all comes down to what we choose to believe.
