The electric bill came today. I opened it, looked at it, started to add it to the pile.
Looked again... Ben Chandler voted to double it.
For what reason?
To save the planet? Doesn't need saving. No... more likely, to enhance Ben's career.

In another kitchen in another state, a farmer is opening his electric bill.
His has doubled, too. You can't run a dairy on what you used to...or raise cattle, wheat, corn...
The price has to go up, or production decreased.

The trucker delivering milk, meat, grains to the grocery has been hit by Cap and Trade, too.
Carbon credits cost money. Not allowed to operate a truck without them. Costs more to haul...

The grocer has to light his store, run his freezers and coolers, heat and air condition.
His bill has doubled, too.
He hates to charge these prices, but what else can be done? A business can't run at a loss forever.

You gaze at the shelves of the grocery. Your food budget isn't as big as it used to be.
Your utility bills are eating up your paycheck.
You had hoped for a raise, but your boss can't afford it. His utility bills have doubled, too.
His suppliers' utility bills have doubled...and their suppliers'...etc.
It never ends.
Pulling a box of cereal off the shelf, you look at the price tag.
It reflects carbon taxes paid by the farmer, manufacturer, truckers, and grocer.
In other words: big price increase.
EVERYTHING COSTS MORE!!!!

Sure, there will be sectors and people exempted.
They donated to the proper party, bought the correct candidate.
As long as they pay and their candidate wins, they are safe.
Are they, really?
Who is truly "safe" in a world of eco-extortion?
