Another example of why short term limits are needed for all politicians at all levels of govt. Given time, they all become crooks.

Why are there not strict term limits for all elected officials in America? How many times do we have to watch these guys from Washington to small towns become entrenched in their position and then abuse their power? Happens every time and a lot more than probably any of us realize.

PS let it be known that he is a Democrat too. Yet another in a long string of Ilinois Democrats that abuse their position.

The old A&P on the corner of Howard and Milwaukee was purchased by Niles back in the 70's and became the Village Hall. The old Niles Village Hall had a radio tower on the northside of the building. The Village of Niles has since moved into a brand new building at Waukegan and Oakton. A bank bought the old village hall at Howard and Milwaukee and the radio tower stayed intact.

Blaze put up a sign claiming the tower was unsafe. The sign was there for years. How many layers have to be exposed to find out that Blaze was the original owner of the small plot of land that the radio tower sat on next to the old village hall?
Why open your trap if you have no idea what you are talking about? That tower at the old village hall belonged to the cable company working out of the back of the old village hall (parkway bank). Once the cable company stopped using the tower, Mayor blase used village code to force the cable company to take down the tower. Maybe you should get your facts straight before shooting at the mouth.

I heard he was very close to Alderman Laure Murphy in Des Plaines. The Fedsare always a few steps behind to crooks.

Perhaps mayors should have term limits. Our forefathers gave the president of the Uninted States term limits yet villages all over don't have them. Many villages are trying to impose term limits yet many such as Addison are opposing them, so they can stay in office and screw the people till they die.

Funny how he retires just before admitting his guilt. I say good riddance to him. I never liked him anyway; knew he was a crook all along. Although I've lived in Niles for 24+ years, and he mainly ran unopposed, I never voted for him. I'd rather not vote than give one to Nick Blase - or his cronies either for that matter. I can't wait until Robert Callero is out of Niles politics. Next we'll need to oust all Blases' relatives from the police force, public works, etc., etc., in Niles. It's WAY past time!!!

Niles mayor Bob Callero is still part of the crooked political machine run by convicted Mayor Blase who is in touch with Mr. Callero on a daily basis from his florida home advising him on hiring and firing along with how he wants village issues handled. Hopefully the Feds continue to look deeper into the villages officals. So, those who think the coruption is overwith in Niles is sadly mistaken. Blase still run that town via Bob Callero and his gang of crooks. Good luck Niles buisness owners and residents, your going to need it.

Assuming Blase observed business as usual in Crook County during his years in local politics he surely would have known how the former Crook County Regular Democratic Organization boss: George Dunne, made his fortune; and that was by steering insurance work to his affiliated insurance entity: Near North Insurance.
No, we can only assume that Blase took notes - both instruction and actual bank 'notes', while in office. After all, it's the Crook County & Illinois way!
Maybe the Feds should do an asset audit of Blase and his cronies while they're at it.
