This story is obviously incorrect. School drug deals only happen in Minneapolis, not in New Ulm, and they only happen in public schools. Also, the names of the students involved should be Garcia or al-Hassan, not Simonson or Gratz.

Please make the appropriate corrections.

Sad.

My guess...some were from homes headed by single Moms where visitiation with Dad was denied.

Marijuana has been repeatedly proven to NOT cause cancer, heart disease, brain damage, liver disease, emphysema, or overdoses, and its addictive potential is about on par with coffee. The DEA is 100% misinformed when it calls marijuana "extremely harmful"!

The marijuana prohibition empowers drug dealers and cartels, and makes our children LESS safe! Because of the failings of the prohibition, our children now have easier access to marijuana than to alcohol! We parents have been patient long enough, we must speak up and demand that marijuana be legally sold to adults in gas stations and supermarkets just as beer and wine are today!

We need laws based on logic, not ideology! We need to Legalize Adult Marijuana sales!!

Is this really news? Some kids busted with drugs? I suppose its the christian name of the school that requires this trivial bust to be in the newspaper.

Thats it this city is out of control. I'm moving...lol

I thought it was "Happy Shaman Herbs" (fake pot) they had. They couldn't get real pot or LSD so they settle with mushrooms? ummmm....really? Sounds like high school kids to me and not worthy of the news.

No! Come on you guys. People make mistakes. EVERYONE sins. These guys (from MY school) they made a mistake, and we forgive them. However, there have to be consequences. This is illegal.
And do even act like only Hispanics or African Americans are involved in drug deals! Small town Minnesota still has drug deals!

I'm highly disappointment in the suggestion that the children must be from single-mom homes without visitation with a dad... Even if said as a joke, it's mean in intolerable.
And for those who claim what they did it a sin... where is that in the bible, or even suggested in the bible. Illegal maybe, immoral due to the high associated crime involving murder, maybe. But 'sin'? And yes... people make mistakes, and most of us have grown through experience. How must it feel to have people labeling you in public for mistakes? Would you want someone calling out everything you did that is questionable? What if we started calling out people publically for passing gas? Or rather... what would your higher being want you to do?(WWJD).
