I'm looking for anyone with experience with straight talk. I currently have AT&T but considering switching. I need coverage for central and eastern Ky. I need great coverage in Nicholasville and Lexington and not spotty here and there.
How is it in the country? Do you lose signal a lot? How good are the data downloads? Does the texting work well?
Thanks for your help.
I've had it for about 3 years and love it. You can get an ATT I phone and buy the SIM card from Straight Talk. Excellent service...at least it is for me. I know several people on it and they all said its great.

I have had Straight Talk for over 3 years now and had no problems. I have the unlimited service use it for all my web sites and no problems with signal strength or texting at all. I would highly recommend it.

I love straight talk I use my iPhone from at&t and have never had any trouble with it. I live in Garrard co and my phone never loses service. All straight talk phones run off AT&T towers.
hate it

have a friend who has had it for about a year and she hates it. had many different kinds of phone and she loses service all the time., she lives right in town in nich and she is goign to switch, when she can find a better plan does not require a contract and that doesnt have pieces of crap for phones.

if you don't have an at&t plan, it doesn't matter that straight talk pings off their towers. you will never get truly reliable service with straight talk, no matter what.
do some research and you will see that it is one of the worst rated services out there.

I have had straight talk going on 2 years now and love it! The phone has been good to me, the price is great. No contracts, no hidden fees. Unlimited everything for 45 bucks you can't beat that. I live out in the country and it works fine! They have a good selection of phones, androids, smart phones etc!
Verizon

I had AT&T for years and switched to Verizon a couple years ago. The price wasn't much different, but the service is. I don't drop calls even when I'm in the country. I would never use Straight Talk or any other plan Wal-Mart offers. Usually, the plans you have to buy minute cards for aren't as good as standard services. Verizon has definitely been worth the money.
STAY WITH ATT

I have had both and I must say that ATT is far superior to verizon, but stay away from all prepaid phones. they are usually junk and for a small per month contract fee, you can get a good phone from att and their service is also far superior in every area than verizon. and the phones are much better than those u can get on verizon.
Smart phones suck

Straight talk LG Smart Phones suck. It's too easy to accidently press the side button in your pocket then any motion you make brushes the screen so then its now unlocked and you can easily pocket dial people or open applications, etc. And like most smart phones they are vague, ambiguous, and stupid. And holding the phone is awkward because buttons on either side of the phone are where you would normally hold a phone. Then your face can easily press buttons. Also when you call an auto service and need to press a number for service there is no keypad unless you hit the little squares. ARGGGGGGGGGGGGG
