Some people in my family he has done an excellant job with, others, not so much. I'm not sure what it takes for him to want to help you out, maybe he just has to like you enough to want to help you. He is way too busy. Hometown pediatrics is a great place to take kids!

Every doctor has patients that like them and patients that don't like them. All experiences are different. True, he is busy just like any other doctor would be in his place, and he is only human so there will be times he is distracted or whatever. I think he is better for older kids and adults. Nicholasville Pediatrics is great and they do take the med card

yeah i take my kids to hometown pediatrics. they are great with them but hometown ped. only sees children so my only option was doctor draper. and i have a bad injury and he just has no clue who i am anytime i come in there. I think he only helps the people who have seen him since they were kids. b/c some people i know (who he has seen since they were children) go in crying and acting like they are dying and he gives them what ever they want but i hold in my pain and dont complain and just really try to keep it inside and he wont even help me out. its bull

Of course a doctor is a very personal choice & personality chemistry is involved. I have never had a problem with him. He has stopped & spent several xtra minutes with me when I have had questions.
A bit of advice for everyone...IF you have reasons to talk to your doctor, just DO NOT leave the exam room until he/she OR one of their nurses, spends that time that is needed to satisfy you.
That's your personal responsability to yourself.

I was told by him I was lucky he would see my son because we had a medical card. I think he is arrogant and smug. You have no good choices around here. Corbitt or Draper not much of a choice

If you are implying that Nicholasville could use a good family practice office with 2-6 doctors, I could hardly agree more.
WE need choices & you are right, NOT many choices here.

You know when you have no insurance or a medical card a lot of doctors are rude to you. I know he has been around forever, I have heard good and bad about him. I don't think I would want my kids to go. There is other places even in Nicholasville that take medical cards, cause I know people with them and some go to him and some go elsewhere.

I wouldn't go to Dr Draper, heard too many bad things, but never went to him myself though, so I can't say for sure.
But I can say that Paragon Family Practice is absolutely Wonderful, they are so nice, they get to know you, and Stephanie there is the greatest!

I would not take my dog to doctor Draper. He is not the only one in Nicholasville that takes a medical card. I will drive to Lexington before I go to him.

Dr.Draper found a heart defect in my step-son when all the other doctors couldnt 'figure' out what was wrong. He probably saved his life. I have been going to him every since and he has always treated me great and done everything he could to help. He is very busy, probably cause there are only a few doctors in town that except medical cards. He has always taken the time to help me though. I like him and would encourage anyone to go to him.

I don't appreciate your comment about Hometown Pediatrics being "a joke" and that they cannot write RX's the correct way. Perhaps that is because the very well-qualified and educated Physicians and PA's are so swamped with seeing over 50 patients a day that they do happen to make a few mistakes every now and then. I wouldn't go blaming Dr's either, when my son was 2 months old, I brought a prescription into the pharmacy and it was way wrong, had I given him that dose, he would be dead today; lucky for me I caught it and the Pharmacy didn't, no they let me leave with it. They were suppose to be the "backup", and yes this was and is a pharmacy in Nicholasville. They let me take it home like that. People make mistakes, that is a well known fact. How dare you call a Pediatrician a joke. She happens to work her as- off all day seeing sick patients and some that aren't even that sick, but she stills works her tail off everyday to provide the community with something that is of a benefit. She is doing something very notable and you should be ashamed to say they are a joke. Pharmacies can be a joke just as well as Dr's. If half of these people worked and had to PAY for real medical insurance, they wouldn't abuse their medical card so much and run to the Dr. at every whim. It's called a job and at least some of us educate ourselves and get one.

IDK< paragon wrote my mom a prescription of a med she was already taking! Don't they look at files and see is meds would interact with another, or if a person is already taking the med and may need to change to another one? It's a good thing I know my mom's meds and medical history enough to know when someting isn't right! I've had good and bad thoughts about Dr. Draper too. I think in today's world, it's almost like picking the better of the worse, you should always watch how any medical profession handles your health or the ones you love, educate yourself on you medical history and know whats normal for you or the ones you care for.
