Is there anyone with a good sense of direction and a decent knowledge of the English language that can describe how to get to Boone Cave?

u do not need a boat but I have not been there in years and it was closed off when we use to go in and its pretty tricky but we used to have a lot of fun caving wish they would put some money into it and reopen it. The original entrance was a hole in the ground at the end of Boone Cave Road it has been blocked off but was still accessible a few years ago but it is on someones property. The other way we went in was to park down the road and walk into the woods about a half mile down from the house at the end of Boone Cave Rd there is a small pull off area on the side of the road and the terrain becomes pretty steep going down we walked til we came to a cliff edge which we scaled around to the opening or mouth of the cave but it was kinda dangerous and is definitely a enter at your own risk type of situation. We always wore coveralls and tennis shoes and even had headlamps which were awesome so we didnt have to hold a flashlight the whole time. There are some pretty tight spots (fat mans misery as we called em)but we were able to at that time go in through one way and out the other now I would say u have to go in and come out the cliff side.

Very little whole but it goes down really super far. I not going to go in the cave else the owns give me the ok to do so. Yes I know I am dumd but I rether give people the changes to so no + if they don't know about it and they have little kids one them may get hurt if there play around it. I know I fill bad if someone got hurt and I could done something to stop it I let people know where it is once I get the ok and me my friend check it out I know once it online some jack azz will try to close it off because they have nothing better to do then shut down mother earth grate series. Keep in touch with me breakout9919@live.com if you don't e-mail me you will not get info about it. I going to try to keep it off line and till some little kid post it. I think the cave will be left alone. So we all can enjoy it and by the way don't leave trash around it put up after your self I tell you I the one person if I see you leave trash on the ground you go fly down the cave after it that if you can get back up. It not cool and it,s why caves are being shut down because dumb people can't put up after them self it just drives me up the wall

I was there earlier and I would love to know how to see the cave or at least the entrance. I am attempting to garner interest in opening the Palisades area back up to tourism as I am a native of Garrard County, and would like to see how feasible it would be to open the cave and reignite the rich history of Camp Nelson to Kentuckians yet again.

I really doubt that someone would shoot someone just trying to revisit a childhood memory. And if so...you might just get something fired back at you. Js.

My husband and I went there as children and went on a mission to find it this week, and we did! It is not in operation, and has not been for many years. However it was such a treat to find it...tears of joy!!! You are correct about old 27...you can't go over the old bridge like we use to as kids...but you can come in on old 27 and go to Boone Cave Road...take it past the houses and it's on the left..sitting right there in the open!! It was amazing to see it again !
Dear owner.....Thank you for keeping this special place, dear to so many hearts preserved. I wish it could still be filled with all it's little trinkets once again. It's been 49 years for me, since I seen it...Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
