I did it for a little while. You have to not only get coupons, but you have to look at store ads and match the sales they're already having with the coupons. You also have to buy more than one newspaper, so you can get more than one coupon, and double them. It's nice to buy a ton of stuff, then at the end of the transaction see the price continually go down with each coupon, but I always ended up with a bunch of stuff I didn't need. It's less expensive to just get the store brand of whatever you need.

I was going to give the same advice, newspapers and just going to the store and getting their "weekly" ad's where they have all the "specials" and stuff....... In south Fl they changed the newspapers up, it used to be the sunday one that had all the coupons but now it is the saturday paper, here at least, and so my mom gets the saturday paper and goes through the coupons on sunday morning.

Also, if you do a search online some websites have pritable coupons........

I coupon, Im not as extreme as those wackos on TLC but I get a lot of free stuff and save about 50 to 70% off my bill. I buy 4 papers every Sunday and I use the site couponmom.com and IheartKroger.com as well as Iheartcvs.com those sites will tell you what coupons to use at which store.

That's what I was saying! How about the library maybe? IDK, it's just an idea. I've watched that show on TV but it doesn't really tell you how to do it, all it does is tell how much the ladies save on their grocery bills. And I think it's great to get over $200 worth of free things, but 60 tubes of toothpaste? What in the world would you do with all of them? My apartment is small. I wouldn't even have anywhere to store them! I need realistic help.

I think what a lot of us are wanting are some realistic steps as to saving money without ending up with a bunch of stuff we don't need. lol. Most stores now won't let you double coupons anymore and I know krogers can be a little pricey. I have 4 kids and then my man and me. We do okay just spending 100 or so every week with coupons I get in the mail. It reduces a little on waste too.

I shop at the Kroger on Alexandria Dr. It's not as expensive as the other ones & personally, I like their selection. I went there Saturday & saved almost $33 on my bill. I only bought stuff that was on sale, and I've already checked this week's circular and most of the same stuff is on sale again! All the same canned goods and such. It must be because of Thanksgiving. They're having one of their big buy 10-get $5 off at the register sales. If you have a Kroger card you can check out the weekly add online plus they have coupons that you can load onto your card from your computer that automatically come off at the check-out if you buy the item. I'm also learning to watch for the local Rite-Aid & Walgreens ads every week. Oh, and since I walk every where, there's a thing called 'Walk with Walgreens'. You join, then log all your walks. You get so many points for every mile, just like you do for every dollar you spend in their store. I don't have a pedometer, but they have maps & will log your walks for you!:-)
